I grew up in NYC and loved GoGo Curry. Came back to town to visit and had a plate yesterday. Experienced the absolute WORST food poisoning of my life. I never write reviews for food but this was

The food's ok, but the place is often closed during lunch time and there's usually only one person stuck dealing with 10+ orders at once.

I go there for lunch pick up sometimes, once the employee just came to work, didn't wash his hands, blew his nose and used that unwashed hands for my lid and plastic bag... they need to improve hygiene. Curry and rice are pretty good, but katsu tastes old oil from time to time.

Most importantly, the curry here is really delicious. It's sweet and savory and thick! So thick, in fact, that when I got my plate, I thought there was no rice because you literally can't see it underneath the curry! I had to ask where the rice was. ? I got the tonkotsu tofu, which I was really happy to see on the menu, and it was super good and freshly deep-fried.That being said, the way they take orders here is kind of.. confusing? I stood at the cash register and waited for the server to take my order. I know he saw me. He never came up to take my order; he just told me to use the touchscreen computer on the wall. There aren't any signs that I saw telling you there's a computer to use for ordering. But when another customer came in a few minutes later, the server walked up and took his order at the register. I dunno why that happened, but I felt like he ignored me for some reason. At any rate, the curry was great, and I'd probably come back.

Really large portion on the Regular Chicken Katsu and fresh and tasty. Shrimp gyoza were also clean and flavorful. Clean room, nice folks and a great meal.

I just ate at a go go curry in Japan, and the curry was comparable to the one there. Big portions. Soul food, especially great on cold days.

This was my first time going, i would say that this place is a hidden gem. The service is great. The person at the cash register, Lian, was super helpful and nice. Since this is my first time going she helped me pick out what to eat. Her suggestions were very tasty. It was a little pricey but it was all worth it in the end. I would say I’m very pleased and I would 100% recommend. Most definitely coming back!!

This was terrible. $30 for dry meat and soggy rice.

GoGo curry in New York had the worst taste and atmosphere which ruined Kanazawa curry. A paper tray and a plastic fork instead of a spoon with a split tip. The quantity is also small. There's no water, there are insects, and it's the worst. It's disgusting and dirty so I won't go there again. When I return to Japan, I will go to Curry Champion or Aruba.

I havent been here since 2019 because I work remotely now. Was so happy to stop by while I was in the area. The food did not disappoint. I'll have to make it a point to stop in again soon.

Had a crave for curry last week and remembered GoGo Curry on 38 St. Only problem was this place at lunch was packed with customers, but today had the scent for real Japanese Curry like at Tokyo Station Japan. As I walked in…only one customer at counter?‍?. I quickly realized why no customers. It’s been three years since coming hear and I was in no way paying $30 for lunch for the same order 3 years ago at $9.95 plus a drink, so around $12. Ballplayer MATSUI #55 would be outraged how GoGo Curry “Out Priced” this fans. Told the guy behind the counter…no one hear like before, you’re going out of business very soon.

I used to visit go go curry at least once on my visits to NYC. Wow has this gone downhill. I picked up at around 8pm from my online order. The curry sauce looked old, overly cooked, concentrated, and dark. The chicken breading was also dark and the guy went straight from the fryer to the paper container. With no rest so some of the oil can drop off.Must have really started cutting corners. Also I ordered with edamame online and at the store they said they don't even carry it in this location nor would they give a refund in store. Don't order through the Google default app.Food was still edible so they get two stars.
