Shopping at Saks? Take the escalator down to The Vault for a surprise. Make a left and hidden behind grey curtains will reveal a 6-seat Omakase sushi bar by Hoseki. What an excellent way to take a break from shopping and enjoy a lunch omakase without breaking thebank. Hoseki’s $95 12-course omakase consists of a soup, an appetizer, 9 nigiris, and 1 handroll. Ingredients are of excellent quality and each course is carefully prepared. Staffs and chef are all super friendly and attentive. They are opened Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 4pm so don’t miss out this opportunity for omakase inside Saks with Hoseki!12-Course $95Fish Head SoupIkura Uni OysterShimaajiBlue Fin TunaGolden Eye SnapperHokkaido Sea ScallopOhtoroKing SalmonAmberjackSweet ShrimpIkura UniToro Handroll

A hidden gem in a busy NYC shopping area! Omakase was impeccably prepared and served! Such an intimate experience with other guests as well. Truly enjoyed the food, drinks, ambiance, and attentive service. Thank you Hoseki team for such a memorable experience!

The 11 course omakase menu was expertly prepared by a highly trained sushi chef, every detail explained, and the chocolates at the end prepared by a Japanese chocolatier also in nyc. The sushi chef was approachable and friendly, and the staff was polite and super helpful. It's a tiny place on the Lower level of saks 5th ave, but artfully decorated and private. Would 10/10 recommend this place!

Chic new Omakase spot conveniently located in the basement of Saks 5th with a few unfortunate pitfalls. Hoseki is veiled behind a curtain and otherwise set next to the returns counter. Unfortunately the noise and chatter from the return counter is very audible and does mar the atmosphere. The decor looks like Aime Leon Dore was in charge in the best way. It is saturated with interesting shades of green and the tableware is stunning. The omakase itself was good not great. The fish was quite fresh and treated well. It is served simply without excessive garnish. My main issue was with the shari (the rice). It was both overcooked and over-seasoned giving it a gluey consistency and overpowering the fish with vinegar. Still, most pieces were tasty and beautifully presented. Overall this is a serviceable omakase option I might stop in at if I'm shopping here.

This is the best sushi restaurant in nyc!!! Can’t recommend it enough. The fish was incredibly fresh and chef Morgan’s smile permeated the room. I absolutely loved the design and intimacy of the restaurant. NYs best hidden gem! Everyone must experience the wonder of

Sushi was very poor quality, not the best for NYC standards. Nothing amazing, was very disappointing. The soy sauce was also sweet for my liking.Had a table booked for 2, when we got there the seating for 2 was not available. The host had to ask another guest to move, the other guest proceeded to switching plates and glasses around, very unhygienic. And they did not have the decency to bring a new set. Will not go back or recommend. Super poor service.

I love the sushi and experience at Hoseki. The omakase experience is diverse, unique, and should be way more than $95. Chef Morgan creates a great environment. The ocean trout, uni, and scallop were my favorite bites.

12 course Omakase. Around 60min. Intimate setting. The service at Hōseki is spectacular. Staff is super friendly and helpful. The sushi itself is good, and it is def a good midtown sushi lunch option. It is located in the basement of Saks.

Hoseki was a wonderful business lunch experience. We were in and out within an hour and it was conveniently located within Saks. The food is delicious! The ocean trout was my favorite but each bite really stood out on its own!! I will definitely return!
