Friendly service. Went to try the famous Chopped Cheese and it exceeded all expectations. The price point is amazing and weeks later I’m still amazed by how they pack so much flavor into this simple sandwich. Will be back every time I’m in the city.
Since moving to NYC, I’ve now had a few chopped cheese sandwiches so I figured I’d give the birthplace of the sandwich a try. And it is pretty darn good! The sandwich had the perfect ratio of bread, beef and cheese. And the beef and melted cheese was nicely integrated - delicious. Four stars though because as good as it was, it wasn’t so amazing as to be worth standing around in a deli for 25 minutes waiting on. Great service - order at the front, cook handles the sandwich in the back. Neighborhood deli that apparently made the OG chopped cheese. It's a bit less cheesy than I thought, but it's very juicy. Love that its panini pressed? Be prepared and grab paper napkins.
