We'd been here before - in late 2022 - to celebrate my birthday, and I was looking forward to another truly wonderful experience with my friends. This time wasn't so great....the service was impeccable as usual, but, instead of being superb, the food was just good to very good. The biggest disappointment, however, was the portion size - actually rather stingy, particularly considering the price.

This was my first time at the restaurant. It was a memorable experience and everything was very nice. The only unfortunate part of the meal was that my lasagna was lukewarm, not hot. However, I would go back again.

Il Gattopardo is a wonderful place for a dazzling Italian dinner. It is a splurge, but the value is high. The food is prepared with great precision and care. The service is very attentive, and the atmosphere is New York at its best.

Food & service were excellent! Inside the restaurant was loud, do we were seated outside, which was lovely! I've been here many times over the years & it doesn't disappoint

Everything from the attentive wait staff, to the ambiance, and finally to the amazing food, far exceeded our expectations! Thank you for a wonderful “date” night with my husband!

We always love finding Italian places that make us feel like we're at home when we're away from home. We are from out of town, but felt as though we were a part of the family. Thank you for being so welcoming and making such wonderful recommendations. We are so excited to join you again soon! :)

A friend recommended the restaurant to me last fall when I was in NYC- this spring I dined at IL Gattopardo , it was my pre theater dinner treat. The location on the street behind MOMA in an old Rockefeller home is picturesque. The garden level restaurant has options for dining, especially during warm weather : al fresco street level, an intimate bar area with tables for two, the main dining room and the rear hidden garden. There is also a large private dining room for events on the lower floor. Being solo I sat at the bar near the window. I enjoyed the music and ordered a glass of wine, bread and olive was provided and the arancini sent were a compliment of the chef. The heirloom tomato salad I ordered was a special of the day and from the menu I choose a broiled fish with accompanying sides. I no longer remember the type of fish - only that the entire meal and setting was charming . A cordial is my general rule after a delicious dinner out and the one I choose was wonderful ! The welcoming professionalism of the bartender & host must be mentioned . This restaurant is a must for me when I return to Manhattan !

My husband ordered a very expensive ($75) glass of wine. It would be customary to bring the bottle to show him and to pour at the table. Instead, a server simply brought a glass already filled and set it at the table. All other service was excellent

Everything is great here: food, drinks, service. It's expensive, but worth the splurge. But it's also one of the few places with a wine list for all budgets. The emphasis is on flavor, not price!

Services were great as usual. I told them in advance that we would be celebrating someone's birthday, the manager sent us a beautiful cake (in good size) with a candle after the meals. Food was amazing as usual. I'm impressed they always offer various specials so we never get tired going back there often.

This was our last evening in NYC while visiting in March. And by far, it was the best meal we had while we were there. The service was very attentive without hovering and the food was fantastic. I would recommend to anyone to at least plan 1 meal there when visiting NYC.

Food and service were very good! Only complaint...we had a 6:30 reservation and although there were several available tables in the main dining room, we were put in a small back room right near the kitchen door!

Wonderful dining experience. Start in the bar (is warm and cozy) with a delightful cocktail and catch up with friends before entering dining room. The staff are excellent- attentive and kind. The food is outstanding- delicate pastas, delicious seafood and desserts are as tasty as they as beautiful.

What's not to love about an attentively served, delicious Italian dinner in a modernly elegant midtown neighborhood landmark? The pace was perfect for a weekend evening meal just a short walk from our hotel in midtown. I particularly enjoyed the classic Italian service and the approachable, professional and impeccably dressed staff greeting at the door. The meal was beautifully presented and flavorful, interesting wine selections. Thank you for the experience.
