The meal and service lends itself to being somewhat of a production, and it was all delicious. They bring out a nice bread basket and other little tastes to start you off. 1. The best tiramisu I have ever had. 2. Nothing about cheesecake intrigues me, despite how much I love desert, and this cheesecake was amazing. I would definitely order it again and recommend most people to try. 3. I especially liked the croutons in the ceasar.

Fancy and good but overpriced. Ok for an expense account but not recommended with your hard-earned cash.

Il Mulino is trying to uphold it's reputation, but it's failing in a number of ways1. The waitstaff was not helpful at all in making food suggestions or recommending items on the menu. I ended up ordering a dish that tasted objectively disgusting - poorly cooked and smothered in sauce. To be fair, the rest of my group of 4 enjoyed their meal.2. The water and bread staff are very attentive! Nice to see.3. Speaking of bread - the restaurant provides you with some complimentary starters, but other than the parmesan cheese it's soggy or stale bread, fried zuccini in old oil that tastes like fish.4. I'm from Italy originally and I'm skeptical of the Italian accents of some of the staff.Seemed like they were putting on a show with a fake accent vs. speaking authentically (obviously I did not call them out on this, but I wish I did so I could have confirmed this).I would not recommend eating here, since I believe the restaurant is coasting on it's name and reputation vs. serving a quality product and ambiance.

I love Il Mulino. The food is delicious and the staff most attentive. This restaurant represents fine dining at it's best! We absolutely love to see Nadine, a friend from the first time we dined here. They start you off with a chunk of cheese and various other hors d'oeuvres prior to ordering. The appetizers are tasty and the entrees are all excellent partnered with various pastas. The restaurant has 2 beautiful dining rooms, each with a different vibe. Thank you for the anniversary celebration on our last visit.

Amazing, authentic Italian dining experience with friendly, attentive staff, a robust menu, and delicious everything. The setting is very romantic, but also loud and a bit crowded. It didn't bother us, but was difficult to hear each other and the server at times. Would definitely come back!

Fantastic! What a find! The food and service were impeccable! Everyone of us (party of 8) loved our meals snd even tho we're are here on vacation we left with doggie bags to enjoy later. It's an amazing restaurant, I felt like we were in the Godfather, small. Cozy, dimly lit and Italian staff! We shall return, hopefully sooner rather than later! Thank you so much for the care you put into your meals!

I went to Il Mulino downtown for a nice night out with my brother. We live in Long Island and could have gone to that location, but we wanted to have a nice night out in the city. They sat us at 9:45 for an 8:45pm. There were no seats at bar so we were awkwardly lingering there. I initially wanted to come in earlier and had called. They said to come and we can get a drink at the bar. We ended up getting there on time and couldn't sit and they didn't even offer us complimentary drinks or anything. The waiters were pretty inattentive as well. We stood around and got a drink after we could finally figure out we could be everyone was so frantic and no one was being kind. When we finally sat down I needed a second to look at the menu and the waiter disappeared for 10 mins and didn't come back after all that waiting and I had to ask multiple people to get him back. They right away showed us the fish we ordered and then disappeared for a while. They forgot our appetizers and rushed out with our mains. When we were done we ordered cappuccinos and I also wanted to get dessert. The waiter looked me up and down and said I assume you don't want any dessert and rushed away... I tried to wave someone down for 5-10 minutes. They basically were just trying to get us to order more drinks all night. So quick recap... sat us late, no appetizers and they assumed I didn't want dessert and didn't come back for that order. Pretty terrible service and would never recommend again. Very upsetting because we go to the location on Long Island often and even though sometimes there is a wait they are very kind and make sure we are comfortable.

The Dover Sole that wasn't. Many old school attributes make Il Mulino enjoyable. Fast paced, a bit rushed. If you order good wine, you will get better service. The big disappointment was the Dover sole. Touted as a special, it was actually branzino (maybe?). Absolutely terrible. Why knock the restaurant for one bad dish? It may be indicative of the factory of food and t-shirt wearing guests that diminishes an otherwise lovely experience.
