You definitely want to make a reservation if you want to not wait to be seated. This place fills fast. We went when the weather still had a bite in the air. We opted to sit outside in the covered heated patio. Which turned out to be a great place to sit. Highly recommend this. Our waiter recommended all our foods, which change with the seasons. The appetizer of the curry cauliflower was excellent. The triple garlic pork was so good, I could’ve had another bowl. My daughter really enjoyed the fried chicken. The chicken paitan comes with a raw egg that you break the yolk into the hot broth that creates the sauce. The ramen noodles are excellent. They fresh with a nice chew to them. It was my daughter boyfriend’s birthday and they brought to the table a slice of the yuzu cheesecake which was unlike any cheesecake we’ve ever tasted. (with a candle) the overall cost for five people with a glass of wine and a bottle of beer was about $119 w/o tip. Also you scan the code on the table to get the menu. Parking is not easy. ( NYC) if you can take the train, bus or Uber.

I had the Tokyo shoyu. The broth was way too salty, to the point where I had a hard time swallowing it. In Japan the broth while salty, can easily be consumed along with all other ingredients but it’s not the case here. I finished all the noodle, char shu pork (which was nice flavor and very balanced meat-fat ratio) and the egg, but left out all the broth…

It’s all about that chicken broth. Unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. Insanely rich chicken flavor still with some freshness. Truly exceptional paitan. The rye noodles are also worth the trip. Beware the half dashi/half chicken ramen - not for everyone if fishy broth ain’t your thing.

I had dinner here with a friend on a Friday night . I really wanted to say I loved the food but it was below average. We shared 3 appetizers to start , the Japanese chicken , Brussels sprouts and the house salad , followed by mediocre ramen. The first 2 appetizers tasted the same , very heavy vinaigrette sauce . The chicken was not crispy , very soggy , and oily . The salad was ice cold as the carrot /ginger dressing . If u want to have a conversation this is not possible … super loud place , poor acoustics .

Went there on my recent visit to US. Unfortunately found out about it only after moving out of NYC, this is miles better than anything else I had anywhere. Could not recommend it enough.

I came here with my friends the other night. We had a reservation but one friend was about 20 minutes late. Luckily they were accommodating and still sat us. We dined on the patio which was roomy and private. We started with the gyoza and curry flower. I had the triple pork triple garlic mazemen. The gyoza was good, pretty standard. The curry ramen was amazing. The sauce was delicious. It tasted cheesy but there was no cheese. My friends had the chicken paitan, Tokyo shoyu ramen and the Tokyo shio ramen. My dish was a hearty dish, similar to a pasta dish. It was heavy but I enjoyed it. My one friend said her ramen was a little salty but everyone liked their meals. We shared a slice of yuzu cheesecake which was light and tasty. Our server gave it to us on the house since the curry flower app came out later - what a nice suprise! Our server was great the entire time. From suggesting things on the menu, to continually checking in and always making sure our water glasses were filled, he didn't miss a step.
