Literally a tourist trap. The pizza is dry and rubbery, the service is terrible, the place is dirty, and the prices are high for what you get. Don't recommend it, save your money

Was looking for a quality pizza place with a nice sit down experience, and a friend recommended John's. Delivered on every level. The dining room has efficient little booths crammed into a space full of old graffiti and celebrity photos. The soundtrack is Stevie Wonder and Ella Fitzgerald, both welcome. (Didn't have any wait at 11:30am.) And the pizza! Our large pie showed up in what felt like 5 min, and it was fantastic. The amazing sauce was clearly made in house -- a far cry from the crappy canned sauce so many places use. Ample cheese and a crisp, delicious crust made every part of it fantastic. Service was prompt and friendly. Highly recommended.

Vegetarian options: Mushroom and peppers pizza. Wanted traditional canned black olives and they only offered black Greek like olives that effect pizza taste negatively. I’ve told them this numerous times to no avail and this only 4 stars. Root beer pitcher great too

If you’re looking for a great pizza pie in an authentic New York establishment - this is the place to go. We were able to go straight in as it was at lunchtime on a Wednesday, everyone seemed friendly and I couldn’t ask for anymore. The pizza’s the thing you go for, the smallest size is plenty for two people and you can tell that the ingredients are of a high quality.Overall, I’ll definitely be coming back!

The food was AMAZING!! We heard about John's before our trip and decided to give it a try. Aside from a small wait (due to its well deserved popularity) we had an incredible experience with amazing food and atmosphere! Definately order mozzarella sticks and a black cherry soda; you won't be disappointed!

Worth the hype kinda place.Very good pizza with Not so sweet sauce, the right amount of sauce to cheese and the crust was nicely burnt with a tad bit of chewiness. The wait on weeknights is more tolerable

No reservations on however the wait is with it. The pies are delicious and large. Service is great especially considering they always have a full house.

I had to go to Yonkers and after seeing Portnoy talk about this place for years I had to make the 1 hour drive during rush hour to try what was made out to be one of the top pizza joints in the nation. Couldn’t have been a larger disappointment. I’d say this was a 2.8, 7-eleven has better pizza! I don’t mind over paying for quality but this was anything but that. A floppy saucy mess with no quality ingredients. One of the worst pizzas I’ve ever tasted. How are they getting such rave reviews? This world has gone mad but not as mad as I was for wasting my time and money. At least the guy on the phone gave me solid parking instructions and the guy at the place was cordial, but super disappointed in the experience, that’s $27 bucks and the better part of my one night in the big apple I’ll never get back, smh. P.S. to management I will accept a refund

Very lucky to be seated right away. It was raining that day; I was not looking forward to waiting in line. I assumed there would be a line. I think we came before the dinner rush which was why we were seated quickly. The play ended around 3:45PM EST and it took us about 20 minutes to flag down a cab. A small and busy restaurant. This is a no-frills type of place. Their New York style thin crust pizza is both crispy and soft. The toppings on the meat lovers were generous. The meatballs had a springy texture and juicy. I read that they don't offer ranch, so I didn't ask for it. I love pizzas from frozen to handmade to Chicago style to New York style to Detroit style to Sicilian style, fusion... the list goes on and on and while the pizza itself doesn't need anything, I'd still prefer to have ranch to dip it in. The slight char from their coal oven gives it a mild smoky taste. It was delicious. Even the leftovers tasted delicious the next day.
