First off, if you coming for first time, good luck finding the place. Hint: you won’t. I almost gave up after asking several ppl but kept on looking only because I know they will still charge me for no-show. I won’t be able to describe location much only that there are no present signage and it’s basically in sub level of Grand Central Station. Like I said, good luck. It’s a nice place inside and quite modern looking though as with most Omakase rooms, windowless. But duh, it’s in the basement level.Food is good but value not so much. You can argue a Porsche is quite expensive but can you buy another car that drives like a Porsche? Highly unlikely. There are cars close or better but if you want a Porsche, you wud have to pay for one. No so here because while food is great, I can have sushi equal or better for much less. And there was really only one hand roll with tuna and caviar that really stood out.I rarely come out of these Omakases full and normally I won’t complain since it’s mostly fish with some rice but you wud think at this price range, you be full but you wud be wrong and mind you I ate immediately before this dinner and had a lobster roll and salad and was worried I ruined my appetite. There are some pluses like always able to get a seat since it’s so hidden and if you enjoy chatting with the chef, he is quite friendly so this wud be the place for you. I find some to be not too friendly or chatty either because of personality or language barrier.Getting the bill, I feel I shud appreciate Tock where they usually charge you one fee for food and your choice of gratuity beforehand. Here, food cost, tax, tips, and some cheap drinks ran me nearly $600! Ouch. And I was still hungry lol.

Ordered a omakase chirashi boxfor pickup. The packaging is amazing. It really adds to the food and makes it look very good. The amount of wasabi and ginger given was good too. I don’t like it when places don’t give enough. The fish was fresh and overall good. It wasn’t amazing though. There were 10 pieces of fish, half of 1 uni and 1 shrimp. For the price, this was not worth it. I would not recommend and maybe give the omakase box a try.Overall was really excited and presentation did not disappoint. The value for this is not good though. The picture on doordash is very misleading.

Ordered takeout - 2 omakase boxes for 2 people. The food was delivered 45 min before the delivery time requested in the order. The presentation was very nice - fancy boxes and pretty utensils. The food itself - an omakase box and a Joji box - was meh: some of the tuna in the tuna rolls was mushy, and the rice was off. We expected way better for such a fancy place.

Quality omakase box to-go! Perfect for those who are looking for fast and top quality sushi but don’t have the time for a sit down meal. Conveniently located in Grand Central. The presentation is simple yet elegant There are two high top tables without chairs. Wished they put out some because the location is quiet and peaceful, and would be a plus to enjoy Joji boxes right there (if you won’t work around there). Will return.

This is a small storefront that gets inventory from the actual Joji restaurant upstairs. We came just at opening time for lunch so just had to wait about 5 minutes as they had to get more delivered to the store. Cashier was very nice. The food was pretty good and fresh, my cousin and I were happy with the omakase box. The fish tasted fresh and my cousin loved the uni which she said was melt in your mouth good. I wish they had a key to the sushi as I'm a newcomer to sushi and I don't like surprises Good option for sushi.

We pre-ordered online for a night in, and what a disaster! They took way too many orders than they could handle, and as a result, our order was hours behind the pickup time. After an hour of waiting, we were lucky to get someone else's abandoned order, which obviously did not contain the boxes we had originally wanted. The food itself was solid but spectacular, and certainly not worth the hassle.

I've been getting Joji Box delivered lately but I have to say I'm over it. One delivery never came..delivery guy fail Delivery time has shortened which is good. The thing is the quality of the sushi. I'm used to eating at the sushi bar and getting my food freshly prepared. Clearly this sushi is made and then sit for 45 minutes during handling. And I am a ten minute walk from Jōji. Moving forward I'll just order from sushi Ryusei or see if Yasuda will make a box for me.

To say this place is tucked away is an understatement. I was misdirected by a Grand Central Terminal employee lol. I'm not even gonna try to offer directions on how to find it. There's no sign of food in the storefront, so it's not like you'll notice it unless you see the sign of their name. Idk where the sushi is made and I'm not asking questions. It feels like a top secret situation. Anyway, I got the Joji Box 2. Definitely beautiful presentation. The sushi was good quality. However, I wasn't blown away. I'm glad I finally tried it but don't see myself returning. Not because it's bad, just because there's better. Pro tips: - Best to order ahead on their website. The wait time was 30-35 mins around lunchtime - Plan ahead on where you will eat this. There are two bar top tables outside their store, but no stool. This is also the situation in the general seating area of the dining concourse in GCT. There are only a handful of tables with chairs. Principally, I refused to pay $50+ for lunch and eat it standing up. It's honestly quite asinine that they wouldn't keep a few stools outside their own store. It's time for Grand Central to put the chairs back too! - When the weather gets nice, pick up and walk over to Bryant to enjoy would be my advice.

My friends and I were on our way to the One Vanderbilt experience and randomly found this spot. They specialize in omakase boxes and everything looked so colorful and appetizing. We shared the Omakase Box which consisted of 10 pieces of chef's selection nigiri plus sashimi. Every piece was fresh and delicious. The manager was also nice enough to give us a tour of the back in which you have to make reservations for. It's a very small space with counter seating that you sit at while the chef makes the sushi. I recommend this place if you want to sit in or do takeout!

I really wanted to try this place so when I had a half day off, I went for a late lunch. Service and the presentation are great. This is a pick up sushi joint without table service but some high tables to eat your sushi while you are on the go and for the prices and clout that they are touting, the food falls flat. I don’t want to pay for a high end sushi albeit pick up where the sushi rice is cold. I get much better value from DomoDomo or Mikado - they are freshly made and quality is as good as here and prices are lesser. Also, don’t sell alcohol like sake when you don’t offer a cup to drink the sake with. Sad to say I won’t be traversing here for lunch nor put in a recommendation. I even brought a friend to try here and I feel bad for doing that.
