I got a delicious café mocha to go. While I didn't sit down or have any of the food, I could still see that the dining room is surprisingly big, warm and comfortable. Oddly there is no signage so one could easily walk past it and never notice it.

This review is for the outlet at 401 Greenwich Street (North TriBeCa). They used to makenreally good coffee witb phenomenal service, all the way till the beginning of 2024 when the owners parted ways and the OG staff left with one of the owners to set up a new cafe. They hired a whole bunch of new staff who are highly incompetent. (1) They are ultra slow when it comes to making coffee leading to a buildup of people waiting for their order (2) there is just 1 person on duty sometimes - and they have to juggle between making the drinks and tending to the queue to take order, with the queue often being neglected (and growing by the minute) (3) They make online orders, do not label them, and quietly place them on the shelf for collection. How are people going to know which orders are theirs?? It happened to me once - one of the newer female staff. (4) Overheard a colleague this morning: they gave her decaf - it was written on her cup and when she went back to clarify, the barista said he mistakenly wrote decaf on the lid despite using regular coffee. When she got back to her desk and sipped it - she said it tasted like decaf. Also, she ordered a blackberry muffin only to get something else. 2 fck-ups in one day. She thinks the decaf was in relatiation to her shaking her head in disapproval on a previous occasion (same barista on duty then) on her order on that day. (5) they don't seem to steam their milk properly. Most of the time, their coffee is barely lukewarm. What's up with that?

Kaffe Landskap North is a great spot for coffee and light bites. Friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. They make the best coffee in lower Manhattan.*Unfortunately for some reason they recently changed their entire staff??

VISITOR BEWARE! There's actually two locations ten minutes from one another. The location that shows up in google maps is the 275 Greenwich location, but there's another one across from the Citibank HQ at 401 Greenwich. It was very crowded on a Saturday morning, but the service was super friendly. The ambience is cozy and upbeat--this is the perfect place to read a good book or do some creative writing. The tables were very close together, so it does get pretty loud from conversation sometimes, but not unbearably so. I got the swedish cardamom bun ($5) and the Chely coffee ($5ish). The Chely was supposed to have notes of pear, lemon zest, and milk chocolate. I wasn't sure I tasted any of those notes, but it was good coffee. The cardamom bun was heavenly: crispy sugar on the outside, a strong cardamom flavor, and a dense (maybe too dense) buttery bread. Honestly, not sure if the coffee and bun was worth the $12ish I paid for it, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt on account of those scrumptious cardamom buns.

I come very often because my daughter goes to her competitive swim class practice and they use BMCC’s pool. This is a 3-4 minute walk from there so I bring my laptop and stay here for abt 1.5-2 hours. Of course I can’t stay without buying anything so like clockwork I would get an oat or matcha latte with food, either salad or some pastries. It’s quite convenient for me to stay here but I have yet to get good service here. Today, Sunday at 9:48am, I ordered a matcha latte. I specifically asked for a regular cup because I’m going to sit here. Barista says sure. Of course I gave a 20% tip coz they flip that iPad infront of u before they even do anything for you. Did I get my regular cup that I requested? Nope! And this isn’t the first time. This has happened over and over and over. I asked the barista why she didn’t give me what I asked for she goes oh I didn’t hear you. She actually asked me specifically if I was staying to which I responded yes. This is normally not a big deal but come on, listen. I am always expected to give tip but I can never expect customer service. Just plain annoyed esp today.

So as a Swede I'm delighted that they've belatedly joined the kardemummabulle (cardamom bun) bandwagon of the other Nordic cafes. Only unfortunate bit is that theirs isn't all that great... The best in the city is by La Cabra, after that, Fabrique. I can only hope they will improve the recipe as time goes by!
