We came in after 10 PM on a Friday and night and such a vibe in the middle of Harlem. We walked right in to a seat at the bar and thank goodness we did! Anissa, the bartender, made our night! The passion fruit margarita she made was delicious!!! She was was sweet and attentive. Will definitely be back!

Fairly new to Harlem and Kanu is the place to be. It’s vibe and DJ is everything. My favorite thing about this spot is the bartender Anissa, very personable and fabulous at her craft. I’ll be backkk!!!!

Checked this place out on the whim from Instagram, Karaoke Tuesday’s, drink specials and food specials. I tried the “bolt” wings and they were great. They had a grilled finish and a nice bbq sauce. I then tried the jerk chicken tacos: they were filling, big, and tasty. I also enjoyed the karaoke. The host was very inclusive, engaging, and fun! Bartender was attentive; and nice. Manager was on the floor and very engaged with the guests. They also have $6 drinks, shots all night. Good job Kanu. I’ll be back

This restaurant does not have authentic Caribbean food. I ordered the Rasta pasta with chicken, and let me say there was no “Rasta” in that pasta at all. The pasta tasted like it was made with cheap Ragu pasta sauce from Walmart. If you come here looking for Caribbean food, you will be highly disappointed. The waiter was slow and inattentive. The music in the restaurant was good at least.

The worst dinning experience ever uptown . Between the extra charge for using my credit card the mandatory gratuity put into the bill and waiting 30 minutes for appetizers. Spoke to the manager about my experience no discount no apologies. Also the ventilation system is terrible does not pull the hookah smoke that’s in the air. Ask for identification twice pretty shady place .
Overall, me and my partner had an amazing time. The environment was very welcoming and accommodating to my needs. Especially my sever Nai. She was very sweet and attentive to my wants and needs when it came to my food of choice.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with such kindness by my server Nai. Immediately sat me down at the bar and was very attentive the whole night. My food came at a timely manner and she always checked up making sure I was well. In addition to that, introduced to some of her regulars and I felt super comfortable. Ordered a takeout order and was given OLD wings/food. Was also charged a tip that I hadn't authorized when I had a takeout order. I contacted the manager Moses and he was very apologetic through email and told me to come back in and he would take care of the entire order for me. I have that in an email. I get there and he pretends to not know me. I showed him the email so that he can remember me. He then said to give him a moment to check with the kitchen and chef. He then returned to me with a nasty attitude and then began telling me that I was a liar about the food not being fresh. Different from what he said originally through email. A very nasty and unprofessional manager. Will never visit again. Also, disputed the charge since he lied about giving me a refund or credit.
