Really interesting cuisine and experience. Cute and small joint serving Cajun Korean food with a lot of variety and inventiveness. The jambalaya was great with a lot of flavor and kick. The softshell crab sandwich I had was phenomenal -- just the right texture of fried crab and toppings with some pickled vegetables. Service was really kind and efficient.

Imagine my surprise when me, being heartbroken about missing JazzFest this year, found myself on a business trip to NYC getting down on the most delicious Korean-Cajun food you can imagine for lunch. We started with a surprise amuse bouche followed by the fried oysters. I ordered the soft shell crab (the obvious order given JazzFest sorrows) and my friend ordered the fried chicken sandwich - neither of us were disappointed. I don't know how they make the honey-brown butter potato chips simultaneously crisp and dripping in wet, sticky flavor but it was perfect. Even the tasty little side dips were perfection. We also both ordered the creamsicle - a tasty treat to wash down lunch. Quick, kind service. Small, tucked away spot perfect for a quick catch up over food. This food was some of the best I've put in my body in years!

If you're in NYC and craving a satisfying meal that hits all the right spots, KJUN is where it's at. I recently checked out their KJUN Family Meal special, and let me tell you, it was a vibe. First off, the atmosphere at KJUN is just chill. It's the kind of place where you can kick back with friends or family and enjoy some good eats without any fuss. The staff is friendly and down-to-earth, making you feel right at home. A group of 6 people got the KJUN Family Meal is perfect if you're hungry and want a bit of everything - this is food selections based off Chef's choice and is called out that the food will keep coming until you're full. Chef does come to the table and ask for preferences though which is really thoughtful. Our table ended up getting: -Okra Kimchi -Green Tomato Kimchi -Grilled Corn Maque Choux -Potato Daikon Salad -Soy Marinated Eggs & Cracklin -KJUN Fried Chicken -Chilled Corn Chowder -Kimchi Jambalaya -Seafood Jajjang For dessert: -Strawberry Yummy -Goguma Pie What I appreciate about KJUN is that they keep it real with their ingredients. Everything tasted fresh, and you could tell they put love into their cooking. Overall, KJUN is a solid choice for a casual dining experience with top-notch food. No frills, just good vibes and great flavors. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

I came here with a friend this past Friday for lunch and we had great service and enjoyed trying the Korean-Cajun fusion for the first time. There's We also got a mini cranberry cornbread brought out to us. I enjoyed the sweet and tart flavors of the cranberry that was baked within the cornbread. Honey butter was yum. JAPCHAE BOUDIN BALLS - 14 The boudin balls were super crispy on the outside and tender, melt-in-your-mouth on the inside. I'm surprised by how thin the skin was, yet it held its shape well. I really like the flavors of the boudin and the anchovy aioli was a good complement. However, I wish there was more obvious japchae inspiration. The sweet potato noodles were probably blended in really well? CHICKEN & ANDOUILLE GUMBO - 25 Cajun style chicken and andouille sausage gumbo with some white rice mixed in along with some side dishes (okra kimchi and potato daikon salad). I thought the gumbo was well-seasoned and we could have used a bit more rice to soak up the sauce and flavor. The chicken and sausage were tender. My friend really enjoyed this one and the okra kimchi, especially. [LIMITED] LOUISIANA CRAWFISH BIBIMBAP - 30 The crawfish was fresh and delicious, but I wish there was a bit more of it compared to the huge portion of rice (mixed with some collard greens). I thought the gochujang vinaigrette was much too sweet and I didn't like that combination with the very sticky/wet rice. Overall, I wouldn't get this again. My friend did enjoy this, though. My friend really enjoyed it (and is a huge fan of Cajun cuisine) and says he will take his girlfriend here. Meanwhile, I was not the biggest fan and thought what we ordered was more like Cajun food made by Koreans rather than Korean-Cajun fusion. I think it all comes down to preference, so if KJUN piques your interest, you should try it out.

Tiny spot but not to be missed! Outstanding service. Staff were friendly, paid attention to details but respected your privacy. A comforting bowl of gumbo. Definitely a keeper.

Ordered the Jambalaya, the Chicken Sando and the Kimchi Salad. Each one was chef's kiss. The Kimchi was too spicy for me though, my friend had to finish it for me. Service is stellar here so giving it a 5 star rating.

Eating at KJun was the best culinary experience I've had in a long time. I did the family style meal with two friends and the chef just kept bringing food. Each dish was absolutely incredible. The flavors were so delightful and surprising while maintaining the comfort of comfort food. The service was unmatched. We cannot stop talking about how incredible the food was and how wonderful of an experience we had.

We ordered family style for the three of us. We didn't know what to order. The chef would keep giving us food if we still look hungry, lol. The place is very small. I think it seats about 20. We love everything especially the jajiangmien. The jambalaya is flavored with kimchi. The tomato kimchi is awesome! Overall, great fusion Korean and Cajun food.

Collard greens and the noodles were my favorite. The fried oysters wasn't good... too much batter and the oysters inside was really flavorless and uncooked. Sangria was okay and their pecan pie was different

The hosts and chef here are soooo sweet. They were really accommodating with the table and also brought out the cornbread as a gift to us! The gumbo and po boy were the stars of the show. The gumbo is super comforting and the po boy had really good breaded shrimp with a hint of mint in the sandwich. This is a little hidden gem in Murray Hill and would definitely come back to try other dishes.

First off I never heard of Cajun-Korean fusion before until Kjun. Me being me I'm never afraid to try something new. That being said I kid you not this place just blows me away with every bite. I loved the soy marinade eggs but with the addition ingredients make the bite all the more satisfying. The texture and flavors just make sense. The kimchi gumbo is like a kimchi fried rice but with the gumbo mixed into it. If I were to describe I would prob say that it's like having a Korean mom and a dad who lived in Louisiana and like they just put it together idk just Service was good and the restaurant is like cozy Ambiance is nice and quiet. nice date spot.

Before I even start my review, run and grab a res asap! It's a very intimate space so it's hard for people who walk in without a res to get seated (unless you luck out and someone cancels!). We ordered their flaked cod beignets, gochujang andouille & grits, as well as their Kjun fried chicken to share between two. The flavors were TO DIE FOR. Perfectly seasoned, flavor explosion without it being overwhelmingly spicy or salty. The flaked cod beignets had an airy light crunchy crust with flaky tender fish inside (10/10). Their gochujang andouille and grits packed the perfect amount of spice, and had a good amount of cheeses we loved the Korean pear on top too! (10/10). The Kjun fried chicken? Also amazing. Their batter wasn't too thick but clung to the skin well. Chicken was fried to perfection! Meat was still juicy and tender, very flavorful and didn't really need the sauce it came with. We were really stuffed and ended up having to take half of our food to go! I can't wait to come back and try more food!

We dropped in for an early dinner to try this restaurant close to home. The flavors were amazing. We had catfish bites and pear salad as starters and fried chicken and gumbo as the entrees. Everything was perfectly prepared. We met the owner who was very welcoming. The space is not very big so reservations are recommended if you plan to dine in.
