Thought this might be a decent place since the supermarket it is located in is fantastic. Well...no. We got off to a bad start when the initial waitstaff (a tallish woman) decided to correct my pronunciation of an appetizer. Didn't think anything of it at first, but then I thought of all the restaurants my wife have eaten at through the years in Italy (Rome, Palermo, Mondello, Naples) and never once was corrected (and I'm sure we flubbed some dishes we ordered). We are of Italian heritage, but not fluent in Italian. The arrogance really began to grate on me because when the food arrived after an extended wait it was nothing to write home about. To make maters worse the service was nonexistent. After the initial seating we had different wait staff and he was elusive. Took the main course order and was never to be seen again. If the place was crowded I could understand, however, we were one of four tables. Arancini as an appetizer...mediocre. Main courses the same. The Tagliatelle alla Bolognese was decent, but not $29 decent. Expected much better. The pizza, Burrata e Pomodoro, to say I've had better would be an understatement. Local corner Pizzerias in Brooklyn put it to shame. Will continue to go to the market, but will never set foot in the restaurant again. Such a letdown.Parking: Parking is difficult. Must use a paid parking garage.

Always enjoy eating or browsing/buying at Eataly. The pizza tonight was excellent, I haven't had a Capricciossa this good since I lived in Italy. Service was quick and the server pleasant.

The service was slow but the food was worth the wait!We had a Lasagna, a Pappardelle al Ragu and also a Gran Tagliere and 2 drinks for 4 people. Simply delicious ?We spent US$140 with taxes and tips.

Server was wonderful. Manager was snappy. I asked a simple question rude back kitchen closed at 10 so they rushed us through dinner reminded us twice that we needed to leave. Overall the food was pretty good. Portions were little , just wasn’t happy with customer service however our service was wonderful, it was just his manager telling him what to do . She needs management training . Our food Portions were very small, however delicious

Food was fine, can definitely find better in NYC. And definitely overpriced - but expected from Eataly.

Really liked our lunch here. We were able to get a last minute reservation as we were in the area and it was an easy stop. While the atmosphere was a bit hectic, the food itself made up for it. The highlights were the prosciutto pizza and bolognese.

Food is not that tasty at all. Super dissatisfied and disappointed with the staff as well. The lady was super rude, maybe cuz I’m brown and my friend is East Asian? Who knows but either way I wish at least $32 & $29 pasta was worth it but it def wasn’t

Walking through the market to get to the restaurant is a feast for the eyes as all the fresh fruits, vegetables and cheeses are beautifully displayed. The restaurant itself was wonderful from too to bottom.... Greeted warmly, seated quickly, prompt service and great waiter. Now, the food.... WOW! Our 13 y/o daughter can be pretty picky, and even she was blown away. Our group had a pizza, fettuccine, and ravioli after starting with bread and some fried risotto balls. Everything was exquisite. We all shared and sampled and it was all simply fresh, and delicious. Well balanced, well seasoned, and presented beautifully. For dessert we shared a gelato and a tiramisu. Now I will say... I normally avoid tiramisu. I never had one I really enjoyed ..... Well, I have now. The tiramisu was phenomenal!Loved the food, and loved the experience.

DON'T EVER COME HERE. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE.Management is working hard to DESTROY what would have been a great place. "Great job", the owner should really think about paying attention whom he hires as hosts and managers of this place. Unreally horrible.1. YOU HAVE TO WAIT EVEN IF IT'S EMPTY!I reserved the place for a 3:15 lunch with an old friend, arrived at 3:20, the restaurant was 80% empty, yet, the hostess did not let me in "until the rest of my party arrives" - why? - "these are the rules, I didn't make them". The hostess was not apologetic, or even polite, just cold, unhappy and borderline nasty. For an expensive place line this (our total for 2 people came to $400) - this is UNBELIEVABLE. You shouldn't even be in business.2. "THIS SECTION IS CLOSED" (it has too nice a few of New York!)Luckily, my friend arrived in just 5 minutes, but I felt like an idiot standing by the entrance. That already destroyed my pleasure, but this was not all :)))))The hostess walks us to a table, and sits are 3 tables away from the window. Mind you - 80% of the restaurant is EMPTY! (It's 3:25pm!)I say: o, we'd like to sit here (by the window with a gorgeous few of NY - part of the attraction of this place)- No, you can't, it's closed! - again, said in a borderline rude voice, with not a shade of trying to make you comfortable.- WHY?- This section is closed?- How is it closed? Your restaurant is 80% empty and this is 2 tables away.- Sorry, but it's closed - and she walks away.I'm not going to write about the food and the waiters - because the hostess and the management here are HORRIBLE. Only come here if you want to wait forever and if you want to deal with rude hosts.

The wait staff and manager in an Italian restaurant in an Italian market are NOT Italian. Italian espresso and affogato should be served with demitasse spoons NOT a soup spoon!!! Otherwise the food was authentic but there was too much noise

JeanneD

spaghetti allarabiatta not even spicy just regular tomato sauce -cut with water, buratta without any taste, too noisy, disappointed because I love their other restaurants and shopping area
