Our first time back in a while. We were very impressed with the quiet, attentive service and overall relaxed, warm and comfortable atmosphere. L'Angolo is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant.

Let's start with the good one: food was excellent and the restaurant is nice. However I strongly disliked how the menu was presented. About half of the items carry no price and called “specials” but given the long list they are not just the “catch of the day”. I found it on top upsetting that while the soups on the regular menu are priced at $14 or so, the unpriced “special” comes at $29. I also found the wine overpriced with a 3 times mark up compared to street price while the hospitality industry price is already way below that. Nevertheless we had a nice dinner.

We've eaten here before and the place is still a good meal. The service was good and sitting outside was lovely but the prices on the restaurant's website and on opentable are way lower than in reality (everything on the menu was $5 to $10 more). That was a surprise and a big turn off.

Had the most amazing truffle pasta and spicy vodka pasta here last night. The truffle pasta was to die for and I couldn't get enough. We also had the burrata which was so soft and creamy. The carpaccio was also melt in your mouth! I am definitely coming back here to try more options

Wonderful location, interesting nearby buildings, shops, we ate outside in the shade of the buildings on a warm day. Good company and conversation. Wonderful vegetaian pasta dish

Went there with my girlfriend cause we wanted to eat truffle pasta. The staff was very friendly however we got served by about 5 different waiters for some reason. Our pastas were unfortunately quite tasteless but it was not too bad so we still ate up also because we were super hungry. The worst part is when we got our bill.Only the two pasta dishes cost over $100.We were convinced that must have been a mistake so we checked the menu again only to realize that of course there was no price for that pasta on the menu. We were disappointed but not surprised. It seems like a scam scheme and honestly we feel very ripped off.It is really unfortunate as it is quite a pretty place with friendly staff members but this experience really just ruined everything for us.

I cannot believe this Restaurant received 4 stars-it is an insult to Italian restaurants in NYC-and a I am a native New Yorker and know my Italian restaurants. I guess it is true that the bathroom is a reflection of the restaurant. Please revamp and clean the ladies room! Also, there were flies buzzing around by the tables and this was at 6:00 pm in the evening today, September 11th, no summer heat or open doors so that makes you wonder. Then of course there was the food. What a disappointment! Italian subpar at best. My mom ordered the veal cutlet. For $44 it was the worst veal she ever had. The cutlet was dried out, had an oily aftertaste -which was the only taste it had. The arugula salad it came with also had no taste. My husband ordered the pasta Bolognese. The sauce was runny and tasted like something out of a can that had been standing around for awhile. I ordered cacio e pepe and yes-they messed up this simple, classic. The pasta was hard and the sauce was not creamy but sticky and bland. Fire the chef! Do not waste your money here. There are so many other better dining options nearby.

literally just not worth the money. service was okay. food was good but not worth $34 for undercooked vodka pasta & $28 for average burrata. you can find much better places for much better prices.

This was my first dining experience in NYC and I absolutely loved it. We got to sit outside even though we reserved an indoor table, which is fantastic because the weather was so nice. Food was amazing and the service couldn't have been better. Server was very attentive and everyone was kind to us.

What a charming find. Second time as good as the first. My Insalata di Rucola was crisp and lightly (perfectly) dressed. My Cacio e Pepe was cooked and seasoned by an expert. My companion loved her Carpaccio and her Bolognese as well. Next time I will try the figs with buratta and the Paccheri L'Angolo. And there will be a next time.

This is our usual neighborhood hangout. It was better than ever, and management came after us as we walked home with my credit card, which I had inadvertently left in the bill fold.

As always, the food and cocktails were outstanding, the wine (by the glass) fine if not memorable. The problem was the ambience, more precisely the table of eight at the center of the small restaurant that took over the place with its boisterous behavior, shouting, laughing, ruining the experience for everyone else in the place. At the center of it was the woman celebrating her birthday--not obnoxious or mean, but oblivious to the disruptions she and her table were causing. As the brilliant analyst Hannah Arendt argued, there is an important difference between public and private space, and Americans too frequently collapse the distinction. Being in "public" imposes certain restraints on an individual, so that everyone might share the space safely and pleasantly. We twice asked our excellent waiters to intervene, as we did the manager upon leaving: "There is nothing we do," they claimed. But there is. Try disrupting a restaurant in Paris or Tokyo or Singapore. You'll quiet down or be shown the door. We have treasured L'Angelo (and its predecessor Roc) for many years, and considered it our "go to" place in the neighborhood. No longer--not because of the disruption itself but because the L'Angelo staff considered itself helpless to have their boisterous guests adapt to a public space. My partner spoke with the birthday girl on the way out, explained gently how out of order her behavior was, and wished her (sincerely) a happy birthday. She said she was sorry, but that would not have been necessary if the restaurant manager and his staff had had the courage to remind her, gently and graciously, that she was in a public space and needed to share it with his other guests. I hope their table of eight returns often and tips well. We won't be back.

Good food and drink selection, along with great service. I would say whilst a very good restaurant it does feel overpriced.

One of my favorite restaurants in NYC - the truffle pasta is a MUST!! Best I have ever had. Some other favorites are the arancini, the meatballs, and the pesto gnocchi with burrata on top. I am obsessed!! Service is always phenomenal as well.

A hidden gem? I reviewed their menu before making our reservation…and after seeing some familiar favorites and things I have been wanting to try, I booked us a table. First, this restaurant has the warm, quaint feeling of a family-run restaurant but with all the accoutrements of a fine dining establishment—Sommelier, extensive menu with fine Italian cuisine and a complimentary wine list, several wait staff for all your service needs. They were extremely attentive. No mosquitoes or flies. My guilty pleasure is Pasta Grannies, so I treated myself to the arancine, fried balls of rice and cheese (terrible, right?) So good! I also get the caprese every where I go, and it was excellent. We ordered the bolognese and my husband had the pomodoro. Safe choices? Yeah. But at a new restaurant don’t order anything crazy (if you want amazing seafood go to a sushi restaurant, if you want good steak, go to a steak restaurant, if you want good gnocchi, go to an Italian restaurant...) and second, ask your server what they recommend. Molto bravi!! Grazie!
