Narrow little local pizzaria serving delicious crispy pizza , quick register service and 15 to 20 small tables you can push around for small groups of up to 7 or so people.Garlic knots are garlicky, pizza hot and crispy. A regular slice is very thin with a lot of flop and a medium amount of oil drip. Other slices like Sicilian and Grandma look good too.

So I am mostly a customer for their white slices (w/ spinach, mushrooms etc) and am also a 1 slice/meal kinda person. Granted that the price for this slice has gone up lately but still under $5. It does the job of being wholesome and filling at that price point. Also can you beat the fact that pies are constantly being made, so you know you are eating something fresh and that smell of sour dough in the oven cooking and a window into someone rolling and flipping dough through out the day when you pass by is good enough marketing IMO ;) Never really did a dine-in but enough eating space and clean.

Delicious New York pizza, plain and simple! I always got the cheese slice and was never disappointed, regardless of which location. We’re talking a thin, crisp crust, and a tangy sauce. It’s just right. But it’s not the kind of place where you want to spend any time, what with the sterile lighting and cramped area and general messiness. The service is also brusque but I let that slide because what do you expect in a fast paced New York pizzeria? Better to just get it on a paper plate (no bag) and eat while walking, Saturday Night Fever style. My only issue, and for me it’s a big one, is that I just wish more of these great pizza joints would offer a non-dairy option. I asked recently and the guy at the counter winced at the thought of it. Is it really that crazy? There are a lot of people in the general population who don’t do well with dairy but still want to enjoy pizza. I am one of them, and so I can no longer eat this pizza because of that. And for all of these pizza joints that refuse to offer a non-dairy option, well, it’s your loss. You would make more money if you did!

If you want to get HUMILIATED & CURSED this is the perfect spot! Ordered a slice, asked to be bagged in a plastic bag instead of a big pizza box. I was cursed “ PUTA” on my face by the cashier! When asked for apology, him & his manager said they’re busy! It takes 2 seconds to say “ sorry “ & accept your mistake! Manager identified both his & the cashier’s name as “ EDWARD” which I doubt he’s being honest! Learn to respect customer & a woman! Worst customer experience of my LIFE! Ps- I was very respectful & asked politely.

I've got a soft spot in my heart for this outpost of Little Italy Pizza, a reliably above-average slice joint despite its name (which sounds tailor-made for tourists, kinda like Famous Original Ray's) and despite being part of a small chain with locations scattered like pepperoni across the slice of NYC we call Manhattan. This UWS location is just a stone's throw from the apartment where my wife and I landed when we moved to the city from Southern California in 2011, and it's here that I first remember sitting at a red formica table and folding a cheesy triangle and dreaming big dreams of city life. More prosaically, it's here that I learned to order a "plain slice," rather than a "cheese slice." It's here that I was bewildered by slices topped with canned mushrooms, rather than fresh mushrooms. It's here that I learned to order "to stay," not "for here," and it's here that I learned to order in a way that's simultaneously quick, confident, friendly and witty -- the sort of 15-second interaction that means much more to the ethos of the city than its duration would suggest. It's also here -- on what was for many years one of the most chaotic blocks on the entire UWS -- that I felt like one tiny part of a genuine cultural melting pot. There was a constant mingling of classes and races -- in a wealthy neighborhood and against the backdrop of Bloombergian gentrification -- unified around the near-universal love of a hot, fresh slice. Thankfully, the same dynamic still exists to this day, although the block -- by which I mean a huge, plaza-style sidewalk -- has been cleaned up a bit with seating spaces and faux wrought iron gates around the tree boxes. But the vibe is still wonderfully wild, and that's the main reason for my five-star rating. Little Italy operates almost 20 hours per day and deftly dishes up quality fare to anyone and everyone: the stylish and the downtrodden; the mobs of teenagers who pour in when school lets out on weekday afternoons; the swarms of slurring 20-somethings who descend when the bars let out on weekend nights; and the UWS seniors who, God bless 'em, are ubiquitous at all hours and kvetch about everything. If you're still reading this, you're probably wondering: What about the frickin' pizza?!? Yeah so, anybody who knows anything can tell you: It's good. There's a remarkable variety of toppings; my personal faves include the white broccoli, the plain grandma with generous streaks of red sauce and plenty of grated parmesan, and the unusual margherita featuring fresh tomato, basil and unmelted discs of fresh mozz (they heat it up to-order, but I've eaten it as-is, like a caprese salad). Purists will say the toppings are applied excessively, and they're absolutely correct, but hey, you get your money's worth. Another thing that anybody who knows anything can tell you is this: That ain't cornmeal on the bottom of the crust (which is never dry, but is sometimes too thick). In fact, those messy golden bits are simply breadcrumbs; like Little Italy Pizza itself, they're not for everyone, but they're a signature element -- one of the many things that make Little Italy Pizza distinctive and deserving of respect for slinging impressive slices nearly nonstop on a block that's always hungry.
