This is a matchaful café inside the whole foods across Hudson Yards. There is limited bench seating inside. I tried the vegan soft serve twirl (half of it was blue which I wasn't sure what it was but it tasted good regardless). It was surprisingly good. The flavors were mild (it's not too sweet), and although you can tell it's vegan, it's still somewhat creamy and not chalky at all - would definitely recommend.

Clueless staff, other locations much better. Charged me extra "because they were out of their usual milk"

I always come in here after I do my grocery shopping and before I take the subway heading to Queens at HY. This place is pretty good- esp. when Matchaful once upon a time had a strawberry drink that contained oishi berry. Usually when i'm feeling good- I get a iced hojicha with almond milk and when I wanna twist things up I usually get a Ginger Zing when I feel like my immunity needs a boost. All pretty damm good.

Staff was nice but matcha was horrid. I’ve paid less for much better matcha.

Friendly staff, the drinks were amazing. Not to mention gluten free matcha brownie and gluten free yuzu donut.

Update 12/15/23: I'm updating my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars given this seems to have been a one-time occurrence and I appreciate management's friendly response. (Hi Team Matchaful, I can confirm this was the Hudson Yards location. I'm a regular at the Whole Foods Market.) If you're looking for quality matcha and healthy light bites/treats (gluten free/vegan/refined sugar free), I recommend this place. The matcha and yuzu donuts are delicious, and I also love the peanut butter cocoa overnight oats. Pricy, but you get quality ingredients. I recommend taking your order to go (there's proper seating on the upper level of Whole Foods, both inside and outside).Original review 12/4/23: The matcha, overnight oats and donuts are delicious. However the hours posted on Google need to be updated. I arrived at 8:38am today, 12/4/23, and was told they wouldn't be opening for another 10 minutes. Google says the opening time is 8am. Frustrating to walk all the way over, only to be turned away. There were two employees behind the counter.

Got the unsweetened matcha latte with almond milk! Lighter taste but knew it would be delicious since I use their brand to make my homemade matcha lattes each morning. Not sure if I would try their seasonal/fancier drinks given they are pretty pricey and I personally don't think you need any sweetener so you can really taste the matcha flavor come through and it doesn't get overpowered. Wish the whole food location I went to had a few more tables nearby to enjoy!

They pulled a fast one and charged me an extra $1 for almond milk when the sign does not specify an extra charge for their regular (not house-made) almond or oat milk. The lady then said that because I didn't specify, she used the more expensive milk. Why would I have to specify when there are no dairy milk options, and the drink comes with almond or oat milk included? They lost a customer just to gain a $1.

I tried their hojicha latte and the seasonal moonlight sesame w/ matcha. The hojicha latte was the safe choice and it was really good - the hojicha flavor was rich, and the drink was not too sweet. It's one of the best hojicha latte I've had. The seasonal moonlight drink, however, was pretty disappointing. I don't think the sesame & matcha combo worked well here. It was bitter and the flavors did not mix. It was also $10 which was quite pricy

Found this little gem during my trip to NYC! I was pleasantly surprised that they were open on Thanksgiving. I did have to wait a bit more than usual because there was only one person working and lots of online orders. Aside from that everything was great! It's located inside a whole foods and I love the decorations it has! The matcha was delicious and I also tried the matcha and sesame soft serve. The matcha soft serve is amazing! I personally thought the sesame soft was okay, only because i've tried it before and the one I tried was sweeter that this one!

The matcha quality is good, but the latte didn’t have enough powder to taste it much. It mostly tasted like oat milk and sweetener :-(

My favourite matcha place. They used to be in Brooklyn but the location closed so I figured they were just gone. Turns out there are a few locations now in Manhattan including this one inside a Whole Foods! Very happy for them. Oat milk matcha latte and a matcha brownie. Incredible stuff.

this is my favorite matcha shop in the city + i have now visited all of the locations. the ceremonial matcha is delicious + the unique various menu options are even better. i love the varieties + the ability to customize. some of the staff is unfriendly but elizabeth + egor make up for my not so great experiences. the homemade cashew milk + soft serve + indigo glow are menu items worth trying.

Everything is made with fresh, high quality ingredients, and the staff and service are great. I'm taking one star away because, even with inflation, high quality everything and real estate costs, a tea and a small pastry should not cost more than $20 dollars! Either significantly increase the portions or reduce the prices to make the experience fair.Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian and vegan options!Dietary restrictions: They have vegan and gluten free options!
