This is our second time at this location ( we ate at a Mermaid in the East Village). Great addition to fine dining in Times Square which seems inundated with fast food and chain restaurants. We're fish lovers and Mermaid has lots of delicious options — crudo, ceviche, oysters, clams for appetizers, lots of fish and non fish entrees. We had a tuna entree that was wonderful. We plan on returning. Highly recommend.

The food is good but the staff especially Christian who has been my waiter on both of my visits is excellent. Also, during these covid times, I appreciate that there is adequate space between the tables. Finally, it is one of few restaurants in this city where the noise level is not extremely loud so that you can have a conversation during your meal.

We went last night before going to see Tommy on Broadway. I have been to several Mermaid Inn's around NYC and have enjoyed them all. The ambiance, service and food has been consistently good and last night was no different. I would recommend the cod which is consistently delicious. I don't know how they get it to be that flaky. The spinach and parsnip purée it comes over is also amazing.

Very convenient to theatre. Fun vibe. Our waitress Jeanine was outstanding. Entrees (Tuna, Branzino) were very good but we found the raw bar quality somewhat wanting which was odd given the name of the place. Cocktails were solid. Would go again.

This is one of my new favorite places! The hostess and servers are absolutely fantastic. That said the food is pretty damn good too as I said this is my favorite place in Times Square.

Very nautical and the service was excellent. Caring and attentive. The oysters and clams were not the best but this is perhaps they were the Happy Hour specials. The calamari also was not very good. However, the Happy hour sparking wine was good and very reasonable. I have eaten in their other places and the food was much better.

I am a big oyster fan and found this place. Did a little research and saw that Zach Braff and his buddy owned it, and that was neat and a plus, so I was looking forward to spending my birthday dinner there. It was just me and my one of my girlfriends, and 2 bar spots had just opened up when we walked in, so we asked the hostess and she canceled our table and we went to the bar. Well, in hindsight, we wished we hadn't done that... everything was great other than our Bartender Shane. My friend and I were both bartenders while in law school, so we totally get it and aren't fussy, but this guy should not be in hospitality. He was disingenuous and just rude, and for no reason. Maybe he was having a rough day, but after 1 round of drinks and a dozen oysters, we weren't comfortable staying, just didn't feel welcomed and sadly didn't get to experience dinner. Sorry Zach, it pains me to leave this, but I thought that you should be aware.

As someone who does not eat seafood, the available option for me was delicious! Portions are very well controlled and just right. Decided to try a different type of wine not experienced before although I am particular and often times if a specific region of Sauvignon Blanc isn’t available I’d just choose a cocktail; truly enjoyed it.Our server was fantastic (I don’t remember his name, not very tall and believe he was Spanish if that helps). The atmosphere has a subtle professional but romantic feel to it. Definitely great for a date due to its ambiance and lighting…

I have been here before but my family had not so decided it was a great place to take them! Beautiful interior and decor and crowd is a mix of locals and tourists! Arrived after happy hour so it's calmer. Began with some delicious cocktails wrote exploring their amazing seafood menu ! Enjoyed the lobster knuckles escargot style first which were pretty amazing! Then we picked the seafood tower which is exceptionally well priced ! It has a dozen oysters, shrimp, clams. Tuna tartare and salmon tartare! Every bite was flesh and delicious with the salmon tartare being the star for me as it was not too strong and was well seasoned! Finally enjoyed the crudo which was fresh and tangy on account of the pink grapefruit. We had amazing service all night and this so far has been my favorite meal of this NY trip!

Highly recommend Mermaid Oyster Bar if you're looking for a nice place to eat and enjoy a cocktail in Midtown (Times Square adjacent). The staff is friendly, the food is good, and the cocktails are strong.

A perfect spot for pre-theater dining. Nice comfortable big space. The food is all very nicely done and fresh. The raw oysters and clams were super fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. There's nothing fancy here. But it all worked very well and we were around the corner from the theater.

We found this gem while we were wondering aimlessly around time square. I love mermaids and my husband loves oysters so we quickly crossed the street to take a look at the giant menu posted outdoors. Needless to say, we abandoned our lunch plans for this place and I'm glad we did. This place is spacious & clean. We were able to snag a seat at one of the high tables by the bar. The bartender later walked over to take our order. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient with us. Food came out quickly and didn't disappoint. App-Clam chowder (best bite) /Kale Caesar/ raw oysters Entree- Lobster Roll/ true north salmon Everything was amazing. Food was so good, we were contemplating coming back for dinner.
