love love love!!!! their “special” yellowtail roll is one of the best rolls i’ve ever had. their homemade shrimp and chicken shumai is ridiculously good. (it’s almost perfect) ?i’d be remiss not to mention the staff; lily, kim, ethan, natty, alex and shubha are all jus sooooo kind and helpful and courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. they are ALL a pleasure to dine with. momoya, they are a nice reflection of their superiors and of the momoya brand.we are sooo looking forward to going back.

Are there any mid-level sushi restaurants on the UWS that’s actually operated by Japanese people ? I’ve yet to find one.I’ve never gonna be wowed by the food or overall experience. I’ve also never been really disappointed by anything I’ve ordered, either. It’s just… ok, but at a higher price than ok should be. Chalk it up to the neighborhood, I suppose. The servers are super nice people. Very accommodating and sincere. It’s a neighborhood spot for those days when you don’t want to actually not eat at the crib & don’t want to get on a train. You’ll pay a premium.Food to price ratio: 2.5/5Date spot Outdoor Would U take a train or Uber: no.

Great restaurant in Manhattan. They have a daily special at ~20$ which is cheap for the area.I had the Sashimi. A sight to see and a feat for the senses.Decor, service and food are top notch. If you're craving Japanese and don't want to give a leg and an arm to enjoy authentic Japanese food, that's the place.
We had an amazing dinner at Momoya! The food was delicious and quick, and the service was seriously outstanding! Everyone was so kind and helpful, and they even brought out a decorated dish of ice cream and sang when they found out it was my son's birthday! We will definitely be back!

The fish was good and well prepared. Just not my total favorite sushi place. It was a little noisy and jarring where I was seated. I felt like I had to eat fast instead of peacefully

I lived on upper west side for years and absolutely loved Momoya. Almost everything I tried on the menu was excellent. I particularly like the spicy salmon on crispy rice and highly recommend it.
Third visit and the food was disappointing. Calamari with over salted thick crust. Soggy shishito peppers. Maine Uni at 15 per piece that had no flavor at all!! over sauced rolls...Server was lovely. won't be back
