i am absolutely in love with their general tsaos chicken. i am suuuper picky and i hate weird pieces of chicken, it will put me off to the entire meal, and new kam lai has never let me down. delivery gets to me in not even 15 minutes after i call it in and i have absolutely nevrr been disappointed. i will continue to be a loyal customer as i have never had a place be so consistent. the other reviews are terrible and i cannot understand why.

Wish I had read the reviews before I ordered. If it wasn't freezing cold out I would've checked and gone elsewhere. Got the lunch special of shrimp with black bean sauce over brown rice and wonton soup. ALL of it was completely flavorless! The wonton soup had nothing to it. Flavorless broth and three wontons and that's it. No pork, no seaweed...nothing else... just some yellow broth and all of three wontons! The shrimp with black bean sauce was equally unappealing! No flavor at all so I had to drown it in hot sauce and soy sauce. I can totally see why they have such terrible reviews... Will never come here again!

My favorite hole in the wall Chinese take-out place. Always fresh and tastes great. This is not fancy food...it is your standard Chinese menu for these types of places. I have never been disappointed.

Very inconsistent. Lomein is good, but ordered the vegetable dumplings and they are nothing but dough and inedible. This was pulled out of just one order.

I had the sesame chicken lunch here, and it was delicious! Plenty of chicken with some broccoli, and the fried rice is really good! It came with a wonton soup as well which I really enjoyed. A very reasonable place to pick up a quick lunch.

This is surely one of the tastiest restaurants in the neighborhood. Every time I go there I am profoundly happy. They preserve their high level service and the topmost level of food they serve. You can never go wrong with this restaurant. Highly recommended.

I ordered 10 fried pork dumplings, and I couldn’t believe how cheap and test it was. I love it. I also orders special House fried rice (pork, chicken and seafood) really good. My first time ordering food from this place, and they got my business. I definitely will be back for another take out. Thank you guys,

From the first moment you step in this restaurant the personel give you an agreeable feeling. Very comfortable stuff, it is a happy restaurant to to go out with friends and colleagues or with your date. heavenly meals, talented chef, competitive pay and attentive service. Highly recommended.

Best Chinese takeout on the UWS. Pretty sure the reviewers giving it lower scores are getting the wrong one - there are 2 other New Kam Lai’s in the area. Quick service, great food, great prices.
