Nice Matin is a bright and lively restaurant. The servers are friendly, helpful, and often check in with your table. Their food is very good and has some unique brunch options (grapefruit with granola topping, scrambled eggs with Marquez sausage, etc.) Yet they have the beloved choices of egg benedicts, sandwiches, and entrees such as salmon and steak even at brunch time. The prices are very good for Manhattan and every seat was filled during our Saturday brunch.

Met an old friend for lunch and service was not at all rushed, tuna Nicoise was excellent and the Tuna loin cooked perfectly as I requested (rare). Portions were generous, and how nice a restaurant does not charge for bread! A good place for spending your money and getting your money's worth!

A great neighborhood spot with plenty of elbow room. Tables are not stacked one on top of another. Waitstaff pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. And the food was good, although on one occasion, my dinner companion ordered lamb but was sure he was given beef. He did question the waitstaff, and was assured it was lamb, yet doubt persisted. They offered to exchange it for another dish, but he said it was OK so there was little for them to do. Perhaps the gods in the kitchen added spices that changed the flavor but we'll never know.. Perhaps diners should order what they know is good and not experiment too much.

After a week in Manhattan, this was our favorite, and last meal in the city for this trip. We saved the best for last, it seems. We had prompt and friendly service and great food. Have the Beet Risotto!

Breakfast at Nice Matin is a wonderful way to begin a weekend. The imaginative offerings, along with staples, are certain to make everyone at the table happy. I'm partial to the smoked salmon on a bagel, my partner likes the avocado omelet, but around us I see fabulous looking waffles, pancakes and much else. The room is as beautiful by daylight as at night, and the service is kind and intelligent as always.

Edit to add- manager quickly responded and refunded my meal. I can’t think of anything more they could’ve done, but that quick response and apology helped me decide to change the experience to 5 stars.Original review: Got seated and waited for 20 minutes at my table. After the first 5-10 minutes had passed, I asked several staff when I’d be waited on, and nobody waited on me. I watched people come in *after* me get waited on, as I continued to be ignored. They did manage to take the extra chair and place setting away from my table, just to remind me I was dining alone (which was tough, since I’m recently widowed and dining alone is difficult enough as it is) - I asked each time who was my server and they looked around and left. I saw someone who looked like a manager walking around, and every so often she looked at me, so I know she knew I was there. How didn’t she notice the menu still sitting on the table? I left because I needed to get going on my day and don’t have all morning to sit and watch wait staff wait on everyone except me - room service was an option. I went back to my room and ordered room service instead, which came relatively quickly, but with missing items (no brown sugar, no regular sugar for my coffee, just fake sweeteners, and a very small container of maple syrup after I had asked for extra (since my kid didn’t want the rum anglaise) - came with a tiny bit in a small creamer container. I called down for more maple syrup (French toast is dry without it), and they said they’d send some to my room. Never. came. The food is great, but the service was non-existent for me in the restaurant, and very poor when needed to fix missing room service items. $21 for French toast should come with better follow up when the restaurant makes a mistake and needs to send more syrup as requested. My $14 oatmeal was bland without any brown sugar. My $7 pot of coffee tasted off with just fake sugar available. Very disappointing experience. I gave three stars since the food is prepared well. This isn’t a kitchen problem, it’s a customer service failure. I can’t remember the last time I was somewhere with service this bad, so I felt compelled to give feedback.

Nice Matin has become our favorite New York brunch & dinner spot. We absolutely love the atmosphere and ambiance of this restaurant. From start to finish, we are warmly welcomed and taken care of.The food is delicious, with emphasis on the steak & eggs dishes for brunch. The food is extremely fresh and served within a generally quick timeframe. The servers are so friendly and prompt with their service.I highly highly highly recommend Nice Matin for all of your dining needs!!

Came here for a Friday dinner. The atmosphere is very nice, and the service is friendly. The bread service is very good — the bread is warm, crusty on the outside and soft on the inside; the butter comes swimming in olive oil, which gives the butter a lovely flavor. For appetizer, I highly recommend the beet risotto. For dessert, the Fuji apple tart is very good. I got the ravioli niçoise for my main, and that was just mediocre.

The service was appalling. I've eaten here many times before, and it was amazing. This time, the experience was not a good one because of the poor service. We were brought a number of dishes - all of which we did not order - by different people, who did not seem to know what they were doing, and could not understand a word we said. (At the end, also, they threw out our food when we very clearly asked - three times - for it to be wrapped up.) When we complained to our head waiter, he just said, on two different occasions, the same thing, “Well, it's the language barrier”. (?) Which was not helpful in the least. Very disappointing and it really makes me not want to dine there again.

Favorite breakfast/brunch place on the west side. Great food and reasonable prices with decent portion sizes. Coffee is wonderful. Have been here a dozen times and I keep returning.

Gracious, welcoming service. The waitress knew exactly which menu items were appropriate for someone with a gluten allergy. The place was packed, deservedly so. It was simply terrific.
