We were immediately kicked out of the upstairs bar because the waitress didn’t want to believe we were customers since we were still looking around the bar for our friends. Tried to reason out that we were paying customers but waitress kept cutting us off. Didn’t get to meet with friends and just rescheduled another night. Hostile environment.

Get the Korean market fried chicken, and order around it. This giant, crispy chicken is paired with a creamy slaw and soy / spicy sauce that cuts the richness of the chicken. It can easily feed two to four people.Happy hour oysters ($9 for 6) were a good deal in the city. The oysters tasted fresh and paired well with lemon, soy and spicy sauces. The marinated shrimp was decadent, savory, and creamy in texture. A burst of seafood flavor. The squid fries were well-cut, crisp, and had a perfect bite. The service and ambiance were excellent. A great dinner, and great value for a group of friends / family if you share the whole chicken.Dietary restrictions: Waiters proactively ask for allergies before placing any orders.Parking: Busy street near Korea town, avoid driving.Wheelchair accessibility: Dining floor and bathroom are on ground level.

Osamil holds a special place in my heart as my absolute favorite Korean restaurant in NYC! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a vibrant atmosphere and the irresistible aroma of Korean cuisine. The Seafood Rosé Tokbokki is an absolute standout dish, blending perfectly cooked seafood with a creamy rosé sauce and chewy rice cakes. And let's not forget about the Korean Market Fried Chicken - crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, it's a must-order item that's perfect for sharing among friends (it feeds four people!).But what truly sets Osamil apart is its impressive selection of cocktails. Each drink is not only delicious but also beautifully presented, making them perfect for snapping Instagram-worthy photos. And of course, no visit to Osamil is complete without indulging in somaek - the classic combination of Korean beer and soju. Ask for the Korean beer and a bottle of soju to make the iconic somaek, which perfectly complements the bold flavors of the dishes. The staff at Osamil are always friendly and attentive, ensuring that every visit is a memorable culinary experience. Whether you're a Korean food enthusiast or just looking for a delicious meal and drinks in the heart of NYC, Osamil is the place to be. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

This last Saturday, had an amazing dining experience at Osamil. The weather outside was really bad and we reached Osamil only to find the place completely packed. I thought the wait time is going to be really long, but the manager found us a table pretty swiftly. And that feeling of happiness at being seated promptly in a packed place was only the beginning! Everything we ordered was delicious, including the simple fries. I didn't try to cocktails this time round because we were thirsty for some soju that evening. But, definitely going to return.Vegetarian options: The restaurant has vegetarian and vegan options. I am not a vegetarian but on this night, I had Mushroom japchae, which is a vegetarian dish.Dietary restrictions: The waitress, who took our order asked us about any allergies and when I mentioned that I have seafood allergy, she went to great details to understand the extent of my allergies. Moreover, she ensured at the kitchen that my food won't have any oyster sauce.
