The secret is out: Osteria al Doge is now one of the most fabulous eateries just a half-a-block away from the beating aorta of Times Square. This was the fifth time we've eaten there, and we snagged (via reservation) the very last table at 6 PM, after catching a so-so showing of "The Wiz". My stomach was saying "Thank you, Daddy" after that sublime Lemon Chicken (and, oh, those fingerling potatoes was making my taste buds do a tap-dance). The decor itself was delicious---very rustica italiana. Best of all was the service---mervaglioso! A great way to top off a loving Mother's Day. Robert, Upper Montclair

Looking for a nice dining experience prior to our show close enough to walk to the Shubert. Osteria al Doge was perfect for us. Service and food were impeccable and delicious respectively.

Lovely dinner right across from Hudson theatre where we had a 1:00 show. The atmosphere is lovely and I my salmon ravioli was delicious. Our kind waiter made sure we had no trouble getting to our 1:00 curtain. I will definitely dine here again.

Went here for dinner after seeing A Beautiful Noise. It was only 1 block from theatre. Five of us had delicious wine, food and great service. Two of us had the homemade pasta bolognese and it was delicious. One had the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe and loved it. Two had the bronzino which was cooked in a clay pan. One enjoyed it and the other felt there was too much of a rosemary taste. Portion of fish was small but pasta dishes were plentiful. We ordered two desserts, the apple tart and the tiramisu and both were fantastic.

Delightful waitstaff, very attentive. We ate a light dinner (after a big lunch earlier in the day) and a yummy apple tart dessert prior to our theater visit that evening. We'll return!

The food was very good and tasty. The restaurant needs some more pre theater wait staff. They were working very hard but could use more help. The noise level even upstairs was deafening. There needs to be some sound buffering.

Located in the heart of New York City, Osteria al Doge offers a taste of authentic Italian cuisine in a bustling setting. Perfect for a pre-theater meal, the restaurant's lively atmosphere is matched by its flavorful dishes. The menu features a variety of options, including some standout specials. The vegan fresh tomato soup is a refreshing and light starter, perfect for those looking for a healthy option. The carbonara ravioli is a decadent choice, with creamy sauce and perfectly cooked pasta creating a satisfying dish. For those looking for a seafood option, the Lemon sole is a must-try. Light and flavorful, it's a great choice for those wanting a taste of the sea. And for those looking for something more traditional, the Venetian calf liver is a hearty and rich dish, sure to satisfy even the most discerning palate. While the food is undeniably delicious, the restaurant's popularity means that it can get quite loud, especially during peak hours. However, the attentive service and delicious food make it well worth the noise. Overall, Osteria al Doge is a great choice for a pre-theater meal, offering delicious food in a lively atmosphere.

If you're expecting gondolas and views of a canal, you're out of luck! The decor makes a few nods toots Venetian name, but that's about it--you never really forget that you're in mid-town Manhattan. But you will not complain about the extensive minuend the good quality of the food--at reasonable prices. The service was good an not overbearing. The restaurant is close to many Broadway theaters, so it provides an ideal spot for dining either before (or even after) the show.

Delicious food, just as good as we have had in Italy. Baked goods were outstanding. Service was friendly and attentive, and our server made sure we were on time for theater without rushing us. The short pour of wine and limited wine selections by the glass were a bit disappointing, but overall we would certainly want to dine here again.

Incredible experience! This was second time at this location, and it was wonderful. Our service was excellent, and the staff made sure to time our visit perfectly so that we would have plenty of time to make our theatre show. The food was nothing short of exceptional with a great wine list!

It seemed start out well, and then we became almost invisible. My husband's salad came out relatively quickly but was not offered fresh cheese or fresh pepper; and then it took forever for our entrees to arrive. Others around us did not seem to have trouble getting served. We were told that we all had plays to attend, s basically for us to put up with the delay.

Wait staff were very attentive, and the food was excellent! I hadn't been since before the pandemic and was happy to see that the quality and service is still remained outstanding!

Excellent pre- Theature dinner spot. They know how to get you in and out in time for your show. Service was efficient and food was excellent. Only negative was inadequate restrooms. Pretty long line when we left.

Have been here before and really like it. Went for a pre-theater dinner. Everything was great....friendly greeter, terrific waiter, great food! They really have their act together for getting people out for a play! Excellent place - will definitely return.

LOVED IT!! The price however is very much Manhattan with a total of $160 for one starter, two dishes and some wine. The price is the worst part but apart from that service and vibes are spectacular
