Great experience. Great food. We loved the eccentricity of the place and the intimacy of the tables and lights. It's the perfect spot if you are looking for somewhere a bit different (definitely a conversation starter on a first date!). Thank you!

My bf and I visited for dinner a couple of days ago. The food is really tasty and the prices are good. BYOB.I would recommend that you come at a non-peak hour as it gets really crowded and the space is VERY small. You end up elbowing people on the table next to yours but also it gets super loud.

We got the dinner for two, it was the best option as we got a lot of great food for a good price. Also, the Christmas lights are a unique touch. We got there in the afternoon, so no many people where there (and for me it was the best as the place is narrow). I will definitely go

Food 1. Service and Atmosphere 5s. This place was definitely still a fun time. The key to success is a new chef. Second time coming here and unfortunately it's not terrible but not good indian food. I came with my Indian friends for the first time and then for valentine's day the second and the same poor quality food. Especially for the expensive price they charge and the small portion sizes. However, the service was impeccable. I've been in the service industry for michellen star chefs for years and it's great service. The ambiance is spectacular. It's beautiful to come take pictures. Great for Instagram. Absolutely must see. Would I come back though? ? yes for the pictures only.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: Labeled menu to perfectionParking: Pay in a garage it's right on first and hard to park.Kid-friendliness: It's super pretty for kids but it's cramped as hell.Wheelchair accessibility: NOT ADA ACCESSIBLE AT ALL. a huge staircase to go up and no space inside to walk around. They say it's intimate but they are stuffing you like a sardine.

The service here is pretty brutal, the space is small but the restaurant was fairly empty when we were there. They seated us by the entrance to the kitchen and the only other occupied table, it was a tight squeeze with my chair already touching the person behind me and my partner placed in the way of the waiters moving from the kitchen. There was maybe 10 other open tables. The waiter came over and aggressively demanded I move my chair back more and then picked up our table and placed it closer to me without warning, making the tight squeeze even worse. We would have left after that had they not already placed a Papadum appetizer down that we didn’t order and I felt too guilty leaving. The service didn’t improve after that, we were rudely rushed to order and rushed to eat. The waiter pouring water was so pushy. When my date was mid bite and he knocked his hand away to pour the water into his already full cup. Every four sips my cup was being refilled so I just stopped drinking. The curry appetizers we ordered were okay but the Balti special curry dish was bad, very bland and the chicken was not good quality, and this is supposedly one of their #1 sellers? While waiting for the check both me and my date started to not feel great. By the time we left my stomach felt awful. The space is cool and they did a a cute birthday song for a family that came in.They did give us a spoon full of vanilla ice cream and the Papadum appetizer for free. This was some of the worst service I’ve had in a long time and probably some of the worst Indian food. It wasn’t gross but for the price and extremely horrible service it’s not worth it.

This review is entitled "The Finale." I'll start by saying I haven't been to this restaurant since my college days, which was 11 years ago. It used to be a go-to place for my college mates and I, but as the years passed since we graduated, we hadn't been there until just recently. When I went back, the waiter seemed to have an attitude, as if he didn't want to work. He begrudgingly took our orders and returned with an even bigger attitude as he served the food. The food itself wasn't as good as I remembered, even with the new prices. I decided to take my friends and family to this restaurant because of its interior, but the high prices and the waiter's attitude spoiled the experience. I will never return to this restaurant, mainly because of the waiter. While I can understand prices increasing, the attitude of the waiter was a complete turn-off.

This place was amazing! My friends and I wanted to try curry for the first time so we just picked an Indian restaurant nearby and I was so pleasantly surprised. The lights were such an unique and fun experience and the waitstaff were extremely nice. I really enjoyed listening to the music as well, it was a great vibe. The food was delicious as well. I never leave reviews but I was so happy with my experience I just had to. I definitely want to go back one day, and if you're thinking about going I say 100% give it a shot!

This was definitely a unique dining experience and in its own way it was memorable.I have never been in such a tiny restaurant with so little space to maneuver. The wait staff literally pulls tables away from the wall for you to slide onto the wall side bench and then pushes it back towards you - every inch matters here. This restaurant is a bit of a machine - the waitstaff is very present and urging you onwards through your meal, they turn over tables quickly. I can see why the place was humming - people come because it's the most affordable Indian food around. But the food itself is not memorable at all. The decor is one of a kind but all I could think of was how difficult it must be to properly clean all those strings of lights (to the point where I highly doubt they do get cleaned). If you want affordable Indian food in a restaurant setting in lower Manhattan this fits that bill.Would not recommend if you are a person of size (either height or width really) nor a wheel chair user nor if you have significant mobility issues.Vegetarian options: Not sure I would recommend this restaurant to anyone but I wouldn't recommend it more or less to vegetarians. There were plenty of veggie options and my food was voted best of the bunch from my mixed veggie/omni group.Wheelchair accessibility: Not sure if there are other entrances but the main entrance is 6 or so large stairs, generally impossible with a chair. The restaurant is almost a feat of engineering in how cramped it is. Hard to navigate for everyone, perhaps especially wheelchair users.

Would give 0 stars if that was an option. Only people in the restaurant at prime time should have been a dead giveaway. Absolute horrible service & rude wait staff like beyond rude for no reason. If you're above 5 feet tall, you must duck to walk anywhere. If you're epileptic or claustrophobic, avoid at all costs! Food is not good either. 0/10 will never come again
