this place is awful the bouncers are so entitled it’s honesty embarrassing they will literally stand there and talk about you in front of your face… there’s so many better places don’t waste your time

We decided to visit Paul’s on a random Tuesday night. We are all well-versed and well known within the NYC nightlife scene/sector, hence the reason we even decided to come to this place (one of my co-workers is friends with a server there.) My initial impression was not really a good one, as the Trinidadian guy working the door had a stiff/unwelcoming demeanor for seemingly no reason. My coworkers have been there before but it was my first time. One of my coworkers mentioned having a friend who is working tonight (mind you, we got there relatively early around 11:30/12am) and he immediately brushed off the conversation, saying she wasn’t there (even though she was, she was just on break). Then, he begun to question the authenticity of another one of my coworker’s ethnicity/background because he is half-Trinidadian. It was honestly very uncomfortable to watch a grown man approach customers in this matter but whatever? I guess? He finally let us in after my friend literally had to prove that we were invited there by an employee. When we get inside, the space is actually very beautiful, dimly lit with a modern-art-deco kind of appeal. However, for the way we were treated at the door, I was very surprised how empty the room was. The rest of the visit was good. We had great service from Kiara and appreciated her attentiveness! I didn’t really know what to expect as far as ambiance and music was concerned and it definitely wasn’t my favorite- mostly like 70/80’s vibes with a little top 40/current music mixed in.

Well I’m glad I didn’t go, I had a friend saying it’s extremely racist, and the other friend that did get in said it was very mid and not worth the trouble. So I decided NOT to go, especially after reading the horrible reviews. I mean seriously, it’s 2023. No one wants to go to a white washed boring establishment that plays black music. Lol. Weird . No thanks

Paul's is amazing.. don't listen to all these bad reviews. Yeah it's not easy to get in, but worth trying because the drinks & disco are amazing. Helps if you are nice & maybe know someone. :) Also, right.. don't take pictures. Now you know that. It is a very cool place to be. Once I made a teleporting art piece & gave a postcard to the owner b/c he was in it. I made it before I even met him. Do cool things, and you'll maybe see how you're treated differently. :)

This trendy lounge is located at the Roxy hotel. Great music, attentive service, nice atmosphere, quality cocktails. This is a good spot for a night out.

If it was zero, I would give zero. Don't come here, they make you wait at the door for 2 hours and the employees at the door make fun of you and ask for unattractive prices. Don't come here, don't waste your time and money.

Lovely venue, great music, love the smoking area. Unless you know someone tough to get
Racist establishment. Many others have already reviewed saying the same thing. I’ve had the same experience.

As others may have already noted, the bouncers/establishment are clearly racist. We were waiting 45 mins in line (group of 6 POC) and a group of 12 girls at a bachelorette party were immediately let in ahead of us. The bouncer ignored us when we politely requested for his attention and so we had to walk away as we didn’t know if we were to get in all night at all.

I had a great time. A lot of people complain about not getting in. That's life in the big city baby. Sometimes you get in, sometimes you dont. But what I don't do is go cry on the internet.

I came to Paul's last weekend and had a good time. The spot is pretty small. There's a bar once you walk in and a dance floor with tables surrounding it to the left. I enjoyed the DJ's music. We ended up staying until we got kicked out once it closed haha.
