We just returned from Italy!! Florence, Rome, and sorrento!! We had some great meals in Italy. None compare to piccola cucina! We had an amazing evening. The hostess was fabulous. She promptly sat us at our reservation time. However we didn't like our initial table... no problem! She moved us to a better location. Like Europe, I don't think we had an assigned wait staff. This was not a problem, however we are pretty sure we had the manager take our orders. Without disclosing names... I will call her "E." E was magnificent! She gave great recommendations. She moved here from Sicily. As a result she has a great accent!! Authentic. And felt like we were back in wonderful Italy! The wine and the food was fabulous. We really enjoyed this restaurant. We consider ourselves "foodies," and this could have been one of the best meals in nyc. We will be back for sure Thanks for a great evening!!

The pasta was amazing, especially the pistachio pasta. The salmon and eggplant Parmesan were also excellent. The vibe and location were great.

If you’re looking for a true Italian restaurant experience, this is the place to go - went to their other locations downtown, this is the best one with the best food + services.. this location make the tiramisu next to your tables (so fire, to die for btw ? ? ?) but not the downtown locations!

Amazing food service and ambience. Had the dueto di bruschetta, pasta in black ink and the ravioli di ossobuco. Everything absolutely delicious. Perfect date meal.

10/10 for Piccola Cucina! This was exactly what I was looking for when I was seeking a small authentic Italian restaurant on my trip. After browsing many locations and many pictures I knew I had to give this spot a try. Piccola Cucina means "Small Kitchen". One of the first things that stands out is the design out front, it's warm and inviting. Entering the restaurant is a dream, it's dimly lit, close quarters for everyone involved and filled with loud jovial conversation and the sound of forks touching dishes. You can tell everyone in the room is...happy. The hostess sat us quickly. I'm pretty sure all staff members actively speak Italian so it certainly adds to the allure of the whole experience. The upstairs dining is a bit more modern inclusive of decor and music. I was honestly hoping to sit downstairs amongst the bustling atmosphere but they were packed. Upstairs was a bit quieter and more intimate. The most inviting part about our seating was the table next to us, no lie, the older gentleman was raving to his table about how impressed he was with the food. He could not stop talking about the experience and thanking them for choosing Piccola Cucina. I couldn't help but be excited. Service was immaculate, from getting our beverages and food to the table quickly, but also asking us each time if we were ready for the next meal. I ordered the rice balls, and they were fresh, hot, well constructed and had a depth of flavor. I also ordered the lasagna and it tasted like someones grandma made it. It couldn't be a more picture perfect experience. Also, honorable mention for the table bread, the sundried tomato and oil spread is the star of the show. If you haven't tried Piccola Cucina, stop in. You won't be disappointed.

We were seated with no prior reservation during busy Wednesday dinner time. The host was welcoming. Lobster fusilli is a must try!

Amazing pasta with the friendliest staff in NYC. Starting with the bread basket with dips to pasta dishes and dessert, everything had balance and finesse. Adept utilization of ingredients and flavors that pleases the palate with each bite, you will not leave disappointed!

We're so happy our friend invited us for lunch here! It's a very comfortable and nice 2-story space, the service is excellent and the food is delicious. We started with the focaccia 'simple', a very thin dough loaded with creamy cheese. Yum. The Chilean sea bass starter w/ mushrooms, leeks and truffles was very tasty, the cacio y pepe pasta was rich and tasty but could have used a little more pepper, and the grilled artichokes were awesome. We'll definitely return the next time we are in NYC.

I loved the food especially octopus. They make the tiramisu at the table. My server Lucy gave me the best suggestions for the wine. She was adorable. Definitely I'm coming back to this place

Lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere delicious dishes and very joyful staff. We had Langoustine pasta, green pasta with wild boar and the cacio e pepe pasta ? and finally the tiramisu for dessert! Greatly recommended! The pasta is cooked to perfection and even sometimes a bit too al dente.
