I went into Punjabi yesterday and ordered a small bowl which consists of 2 vegetables and rice. I chose 1 veg and was told “ that’s on you if you choose one vegetable”. He had already filled the order so I decided let me get the second vegetable with the bowl since I am being charged for it. I asked him for the other vegetable and he put it in a different bowl. He then proceeded to charge me $7.00 for the additional vegetable. His explanation was he had already filled the order. I explained your sign says 2 vegetables, why are you charging me $7.00? I also had not left the store or paid for my order. He kept repeating “I filled the order already”.I have been going here since the late 90’s and the food and service have always been good. Sorry Punjabi. No positive review for you….

Diminutive space with down-at-heel appearance —but the urban decay is part of the charm. The samosa and aloo tikki were good. Both are potato heavy but herb seasoning is present and noted and flavorful. They’re large, hot and filling. Great option for cheap filling hot snack if you have cash. $3/ each. Cash only. The English spoken here is barebones strictly transactional English.Vegetarian options: Pretty sure everything here is vegetarian.

Best place for anyone to taste proper India food (vegetarian). I suggest to try bread pakoda and samosa I did even try their thali(platter) which is very delicious.
This is what New York used to be: absolutely delicious, authentic food from a little hole in the wall spot on Houston and first. Regularly ate here after gigs at Arlene‘s grocery, Mercury Lounge, & CBGB is back in the day. I haven’t played Mercury Lounge in years but took advantage of being nearby and dropped in. To my delight the food was still absolutely delicious and cheap! They had seven hot dishes to choose from, five of which were vegan. They had samosas, pakoras, and other Indian/Pakistani goodies. I definitely recommend this for a quick bite when you’re in the area. There’s no seating but there is a standing counter inside at which you can eat if you want to “eat in.”Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. I recommend cauliflower and spinach

So delicious and reasonably priced! It’s a well rated gem.
The food is pretty good, but they warm up everything in the microwave and in non-microwave safe plastic containers.

Gee
Good food. Not cheap though (considering it is a small store and not a mid tier restaurant). Cash only, also think twice before using the ATM outside, it has crazy charges.Order rotis carefully, they are huge.Their food tastes good but make sure you consume it the same day as it builds a sour kind of taste (unlike food from other places which easily lasts for a day)
