Ordering the food from Pure Grit BBQ was quick and easy. As always, the food is very tasty and satisfying. I like getting the Green Goddess Salad with added tofu to hit my nutritional needs.

The Poke for the People selection menu is great, food was fresh, delicious, and the service was amazing! I would come back and recommend to my friends.

They sold out - this used to be a fully vegan spot and was really good, but now they share kitchen space with a bunch of other "restaurants" - they claim the vegan food is cooked separately but when I went there last the place reeked of meat and they looked too busy to be clearly caring about cross-contamination.

Used to love pure grit-- was my fav place in the city. Sadly with the change to hungry house the quality has declined. The queso burger bun fell apart and the broccoli salad was inedible bc of all the vinegar. Clearly the care put into vegan and gf food has not carried over.

$16+ for 15 dumplings, each no bigger than the size of a freaking quarter coin. SIXTEEN DOLLARS. Ridiculous. You will definitely leave this house hungry.

Like 6 restaurants in one spot called Hungry House. Should not be listed as vegan. All food comes from the same kitchen. Would not recommend.

Disappointed in incredible queso burger I ordered. Mostly in the bun that just fell apart in my hands. The patty itself is ok, pickles are alright just not a great spot for a vegan burger.

The food took a while to come out, and came out all separately, the platter I got was cold and the salmon that took the longest to get, probably 20 minutes was not good. Weird ordering in and waiting 20 minutes for the food and it comes cold while it’s completely empty beside us in there and we didn’t see any to go orders, we just ended up asking for everything to go so we could re heat it at home, ended up going somewhere else for lunch after we tasted everything at home . I was excited for a while to come here and try out the vegan bbq but after this I probably won’t try it again.

I ordered the Mushroom Adobo Bowl online with a topping of BBQ tofu and thoroughly enjoyed it.The mushrooms seem nicely sautéed along with jasmine rice steamed better than most places produce. The pickled radish and seasoned string beans are chilled and add a nice contrast in texture and temperature to the meal. The tofu was of the very soft variety with a mild flavor, which went well with the dish. It’s also worth noting that menu does include meat and fish options if you’re looking for them but I was surprised how satisfied I waswith the fish as a whole. The responsible packaging and cutlery is also a nice touch. Definitely a thoughtful place overall. The atmosphere in the shop is clean, spacious, and well-lit in a way that suggests you’re supposed to take-out instead of dine in.All in all, I plan to come back and try all they have to offer.

I had heard a lot about Pure Grit before it opened and was quite excited to give it a try. We ordered the Impossible cutlets+broccoli salad+fries combo, mac and cheese, and BBQ chicken option. The broccoli salad and fries were good but the core items were underwhelming. As others noted, this is a "ghost kitchen" set up so not much space if you actually want to stay and eat. I did appreciate the compostable cutlery and dishes and reusable trays.

Came here due to some hype from social media. This review is for dine in and vegan options only. For the price of the meal I was expecting a higher standard. The Mac and cheese tastes like it was made by someone who has never tasted Mac and cheese before. It was watery and not good. The potato salad was decent. The fried tofu bites were flavorless. Texturally light and fluffy. The veggie rice bowl was mostly rice.Music was good. Employees seemed nice and were honest.

The place was empty, yet it took 20 minutes to get our food, and everything was cold, with some sides looking as if they had just pulled it out of a refrigerator. The food was seasoned well and probably would have been good if it were served hot.

I got a Backyard BBQ chicken bowl and really enjoyed it. It came with a lot of chicken and I enjoyed the seasoning in the mushroom and broccoli. The snacks are great. I got some of the best gummies I've ever had weirdly and a chocolate latte which helped me get through the day. Employees were nice and my order came quickly.
