Got a custom “pecan pie” cake - came out beautifully and tasted amazing. Pretty affordable. Greg was super helpful and responsive as well. Highly recommend!

I was thrilled to order from Red Gate Bakery after reading the rave Yelp reviews. However, the delivery experience didn't, well, deliver. While the Confetti Sugar Cookie and Oatmeal Cookje were some of the best I've ever had, the Homemade Oreos fell short. While the image on Seamless showed 3 cookies, the price was actually $3 per stale, burnt tasting cookie.Moving on to the Cake. It was less than impressive. Although the Instagram account advertised a Blood Orange Cake, however, we received a piece that looked like someone's reject pink wedding cake. Sadly, the frosting put the 'Butter' in 'Buttercream'.I can't speak to the ambience since I ordered delivery, but I'd recommend going to the bakery in person to ensure you get the items you're paying (a premium) for.

I ordered a birthday cake to be delivered to my brother’s birthday party. When the first cake got stolen, the bakery sent out a second cake 40 minutes before closing. Exceptional service went above and beyond!

Why stopped by to try the buns but they were out, so we settled for cookies instead—specifically, the toffee and oatmeal icing ones. However, the cookies turned out to be disappointingly sweet and greasy. my partner got the apple dessert which was also a letdown due to its weird smell and overwhelming saltiness. In hindsight, It seems to be one of those spots that gained undo attention on TikTok.

Hard for me to rate this time. I had cookies, a slice of loaf, and a slice of cake. Overall good but ‼️the oil that was absorbed by the paper wraps was shocking. It got all over the bag. I really hope they use good oil otherwise it would be scary eating a lot of it.First of all, I love the ?weekend cake I got this time. The reason I went for it. It was ✨?Cheese Plate Cake made with verity of cheese with balanced sweet and gentle savory taste. The cake was moist, crumb a little bit. The fruit deco on the top was lovely and a nice plus.I got a slice of pumpkin olive oil loaf which was the one super oily and got all the paper wraps of items dirty in the bag. It was delicious for sure, moist with rich flavors and nice candied nuts on the top. But the among of the oil that was used was shocking and it made me concerned. For cookies, they make cookies thin, soft with a touch of crispy edge. I got the chocolate toffee and flourless chocolate with nuts.I’m more like a think cookie person, so they were not my cup of tea. But for people like thin cookie, no hurt to try. Chocolate toffee was a safe one, but I don’t recommend the flourless chocolate one. The texture was off, kinda dry.I would like to visit again for the bun and the bar next time, but I guess later.. since I feel everything is heavy for the body.*Second visit: Lime bar. I won’t recommend. It was a heavy one, strong sourness and sweetness at the same time. It was melting, yes, but the taste was intense.

Quite possibly my favorite cookie in the city. Great flavors (notable standouts: cardamoodle amazing, pb miso extremely underrated, and my favorite, the cannibal cookie) with the perfect chewy texture. If you like your cookies thin and crispy, go to your supermarket and get what Tate calls a cookie. Otherwise, go to red gate. They also do cakes, buns, and dessert loaves but I never get past their cookies!

Finally visited in person after trying some of their treats via Comfortland a while back, and I'm officially obsessed. I stopped in on a Saturday - there was a line, but it moved pretty fast - and tried:+ Midnight banana loaf slice+ Confetti cookie+ Fudgenutter cookie+ Cardamadoodle cookie + Chocolate toffee cookie + Pumpkin olive loaf sliceThe banana loaf and confetti cookie were my favorite, but honestly everything was amazing. Would skip the fudgenutter next time and try a different chocolate option, but truly, no notes. Will be back to try the lime bars and more cookies!

I wish I could put this bakery in my pocket and take it back home to DC. I love everything about it. Try anything on the menu that you think sounds amazing because it most likely is.Dietary restrictions: They have some vegan options

* Pumpkin Olive Oil LoafA comforting pastry gathering all the fall flavors and scents into cake form. After hearing glowing reviews about Red Gate's fall special loaves, I decided to swing by and grab a slice on the last day of October. So glad that I didn’t sleep on this delectable fall treat. The loaf was packed with pumpkin and fall spice flavors, topped with luscious spiced cider frosting and toasted seeds. Olive oil made the cake extra moist, absolutely delightful. The deeply browned top was addictively delicious. If you are in search for an extremely pumpkiny pastry, Red Gate’s pumpkin loaf won’t let you down.

Very cute bakery with unique flavors. We tried the everything bagel, miso peanut butter, and cardamom doodle cookies. The cookies are all very thin with the perfect crispy on the edges, chewy in the middle texture. The everything bagel cookie was a favorite, who knew garlic and cookies go together!
