Clean, fresh, tasty, good service, nice ambience, and reasonably priced. I would eat here again.

Hands down one of the best authentic Indian food we had in NYC. Everything was so fresh. The owner was very welcoming and truly showcased “atithi devo bhava”. It felt like home. They customized the paneer tikka for my kid and she loved it. Would absolutely visit this place again.. and again.. kudos!!

We really enjoyed our dinner of the house speciality bhuna lamb, vegan spinach and chick pea, yogurt, and nan (excellent), dessert (gulab jalum) and Chai tea. Dinner included rice. We frequent many Indian restaurants and the food was excellent. There are many vegan and vegetarian choices. The dishes we chose were not spicy, but extremely flavorful. The owner was charming and informative. Dinner was around $60 for two. Extremely affordable! We will definitely return.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan and vegetarian options.

I recently visited Red Onion, which was recommended by a friend, and I must say, the food there is outstanding! I absolutely loved the rich, authentic flavors in every dish. A big shoutout to the Red Onion team for their exceptional work. Every bite was delicious, just as promised. Varunsingh and his cousin Ankitsingh from Rajasthan provided excellent recommendations. The goat curry was especially outstanding; it transported me to Rajasthan with its authenticity. Having been in the restaurant industry since 1995, I can't express enough how Red Onion makes you feel right at home. It's truly a gem to find such an authentic place, reminiscent of my home in India. I'll definitely be returning whenever I have the chance.

The food was amazing. I got the goat curry and it was delicious. The garlic naan is also very good. I also really liked that they had Kingfisher beer, it made it feel more authentic. Varun was a great host and very friendly.

Went here for the first time during a weeknight. Varun, the proprietor, treated us like family. The food is authentic and probably the best Indian food I’ve had in NYC, hands down. Go with what Varun recommends if you dine in. We had a couple appetizers and two mains. Superb.
