Let's be honest, my bar was high for this restaurant not only for the fairly expensive price but also for the reputation attributed to this restaurant for decades.I was totally blown away by the unique taste of the filet mignon I ate, the flavors of the aged steak were unbeatable. This is definitely my best filet mignon ever. The succulent mushroom accompaniment.A must try once in your life for steak lovers.

Overall, disappointed and surprised by the high ratings on google. Frankly the place felt like a bit of scam for out of towners that don't know better. The food was just not on par to the quality and precision of proper steakhouses like Keens and Wolfgangs. There was nothing egregious, but at the price point you should expect the best and this just didn't deliver. The service was fine, if overly formal. Again it was not on par with the personalization and attention you get at the top class steak joints.Atmosphere was not good. Overly loud music, and the space is cavernous without any intimacy you'd expect in an expensive restaurant. The whole place felt oddly cheap and fake like a movie set.. it's hard to describe - like you could knock down the wall and there would be a film set behind it.

Cancelled my Valentine’s Day meal with no explanation and didn’t reply to my email query either. Would never want to dine here again after that…luckily I dined at Morton’s steakhouse which was out of this world!!!

Lots of anticipation for what turned out to be a disappointing experience. The waiter barely acknowledged our presence disappearing most of the time we dined. It wasn't busy so no excuse for not taking care of us. Super disappointed, food was ok but overpriced for the experience. There are much better steakhouses in NYC, don't waste your time or money.

For me this is a bit of a hidden gem. One that was hiding in plain sight. The food was very well prepared. Steak came out sizzling on the plate, something that isn't always true with fajitas. Imagine my surprise at this! Service was solid. Timely, polite, efficient. Canadian bacon is on the menu and it is far better than what just came to mind as you read that :)Dietary restrictions: Accommodates celiac (Gluten Free)

Super excited that I had to get my hands on some of the best food. This steak house is a true classic and so freaking delicious. My meal was above expectations. I will be back.

If i could give zero stars I would. We made reservations here to celebrate my anniversary for my sobriety. When we were first seated we got put and the very first booth near the doorway not even in the dining room. When we asked to sit on the dining room the hostess said let me check if there is any room (in a annoyed voice). We walk in and there are exactly 5 pairs of 2 people in the room and MANY open tables. We were not even told our waiters name and when the waiter came to the table he was a robot. Did the bare minimum of what he needed to do and we weren't even asked about the special occasion we were supposed to be there Celebrating. Dinner was fine (mastros is 100% better. Steak had no flavor as I needed salt and pepper) we weren't asked how our dinner was not once, only by the guy who brings food out when he noticed I was crying because of the whole experience. We asked for our bill and the waiter kept remaking tables which is meant for after closing hours. After he kept cleaning and didn't bring us our bill we asked for the manager. Then they brought out our "anniversary dessert" which was a total joke to me, a lousey peice of cheesecake with whipped cream woohoo so special . Then the manager came out and made excuse after excuse and how sorry he was that he was upstairs and "busy" and offered us free drinks....... when im celebrating my sobriety. Sorry buddy no sorry will be accepted after that horseshit experience. I will never recommend your restaurant to anyone not even my enemy. I will be posting your resturant on everyone of my social media pages with my experience. I hope you and your whole crew and resturant get shut down. Also the bathrooms look like 10,000 people did crack in it so you should get that fixed.

When we arrived at 9:30 PM for our reservation me and my girlfriend did not feel welcomed one bit by the host. When we sat down at the table it wasn't even set for us and the silverware was dirty. The server was very poor at his job and didn't check in on us hardly at all I would say a total of 3 times the whole hour plus we were there. The food was okay I paid a total of $150 for everything we ordered which was app, entree, side and two drinks. Overall I would not recommend going to this place as customer service is well below the standard it should be for a nice steakhouse. Mastros is a much better place for your money.

A hidden gem, service was exceptional, food was great. The drinks were abundant, the staff was attentive and did its very best to make you welcome, comfortable and happy. Pricey like all NY steakhouses but in this case worth every penny. Will be back again soon, my only regret is we did not know about them sooner.

I have come here a couple times and every time that I come here my experience has been great. The steak is excellent old-school steakhouse just like Peter Luger‘s maybe better. Definitely a great little secret.
