By far the most affordable sashimi one can expect to find in manhattan. Definitely recommend to big sushi eaters out there to try owners recommendations. Also, the owner only sells whats fresh that day to ensure quality doesnt change. He may recommend few pieces to try which never happens anywhere. Top quality for very reasonable price and will definitely come back for more.

Best value sushi on the UES. Takes a while to prepare, but worth the wait

Quick and great value takeout sushi. Wish they had additional locations. Definitely order ahead of possible to save in time. Sashimi tastes and smells fresh. Decent size cuts.

Saw this on instagram a few days ago and have been wanting to try it. I finally did, and it was indeed worth the commute from the trenches of Tribeca. I'm a regular customer of Nobu and I can confirm these two places are very similar, if not the same in quality for more than half the price! I got a 6 piece salmon roll and a sashimi deluxe (4 piece salmon, tuna, yellowtail, 2 piece scallop) for around $30 which in this day and age and city, is a steal. The quality and the price combined makes this small hole in the wall shop a true 5 stars! It is very worth trying!

Got the Roy's Special Deluxe which is the same as the Roy's Special Combination (FYI). It was $39 which is definitely worth the quality and quantity. It came with California roll, eel roll and the most scrumptious salmon roll. The rice really stood out with the fragrance and rice vinegar. The sashimi was large and really refresh. There was no skimping on the size of the sashimi. My favorite was the salmon. We picked up the food and ate it in Central Park. Perfect for a picnic date.

There is such a diverse range of fish and sushi in Roy’s fish market. My kids love this place and they love the food too. My daughter wants to eat the sushi every day.

Terrible service and the sushi "chef" is absolutely rude. The sushi isn't even fresh and reminds me of store bought sushi... but worse.

The fish is very fresh and prices are so reasonable, especially for the area. Our go to for weekly sashimi and sushi to eat at home. The man working there is very quiet, but very understanding to each customer’s request. A hidden gem for sure.

Not the fanciest looking sushi but the fish definitely tastes fresh. Value for money for sure!

If I could give zero star I would. I’ve seen post about this fresh sushi place all over my instagram so i was very excited to give it a try. As soon as walked in the store the guy behind the counter not very sure but I assume that he’s probably the owner gave me a look with an attitude. And as i was looking at the menu on what to order he just stared at us and when i finally ordered he said everything sold out only the salmon left which he can tell me while i was looking at the menu but whatever i said fine salmon is ok, then he said that i have to wait for at least 30 minutes! At that point i just walked out. He gave me the feeling that he didn’t want to sell anything to me i was very disappointed.

Wow, great sushi/sashimi, amazing portions and quality! Combo included salmon, tuna, shrimp, eel, scallop, a roll and I’m not sure what kind of whitefish but it was super good.

Ordered the large sushi platter for a party. It was awesome. Great selection of nigiri, sushi , rolls. I also got cocktail shrimp. Very tasty. Awesome value, everyone loved it. Will definitely be ordering from Roy’s again.

Found Roy’s via a Reddit post — fairly average sushi, the maki roll that ordered was haphazardly thrown together in front of me.
