I tried to dine here today. I have empathy for understaffed restaurants but today's experience was very poor. You know the situation is pretty dire if they have a child working there. The child was so sweet but the rest of the staff was not warm nor friendly at all. We were seated by the child and given menus. It was 15 minutes of me trying to make eye contact with the waitress who flat out ignored me. She finally came over after probably being tired of me staring at her and said quite coldly the kitchen is backed up and she could not take my order. She could not tell me a time or even an estimated time when she could take my order. She said if we didn't want to wait, we should eat elsewhere. Okay, so that's what we did.If these are the issues, and they can't even take a simple order from me or give me an estimated time they can take my order, then close off the tables and don't seat people if that's the case. There are so many ways this could have been handled better.
Everything was great until the end. When I paid for my food the waitress turned the screen around to see how much I tipped, and when she saw I hadn’t tipped said “Just so you know, typically people tip when they dine in”.I feel like whether or not someone tipped shouldn't even be brought up as you never know what a customer might be going through.

Family run place great comfort food a bit pricey but worth it. The Mets vibes are immaculate.
They don’t serve party of more than 4, understandable, it’s a small place. But they weren’t willing to split our party of 5 to separate tables either. They turned us away instead, makes no sense.

Have been coming here for year but today I arrived with a party of 3 and by happenstance met saw 2 other friends that were on line. The waitress refused to seat our party of 3 because we happened to to know the other 2 individuals behind us ( totaling 5 people) she refused to listen to the fact that we knew each other but were separate parties and refused to sit either of us. I am very disappointed by this.

I would give a 0 if I could. Waited in line 30 mins for a table. We had 5 people, planning to sit at two tables and were told the kitchen could not accommodate a party of 5 at all bc the “kitchen cannot handle 5 people”

Racist staff. I came in with a party of 2 and the woman assumed I was part of another party I guess because we were of the same ethnicity. I’ve never felt so oppressed and violated in my entire life.

This place defies all logic and common sense. Came with a party of 5 and saw a sign where they do not seat parties larger than 4. Sure, no problem - it’s a small kitchen. Easy solution, we split up into a group of 3 + 2. There’s no need for us to sit next to each other. To our astonishment, that is not allowed…Oh by the way, there was no line behind us.Staff was overall extremely rude, and my brain is still trying to make sense of their logic.
