I have never had Indian food before and this was a great first experience! There is on street parking in the area fyi. I came to SONA for a private event. They had the party down stairs in a private room. The staff was super friendly but seemed a little overwhelmed maybe it was just an off night. Everything from the cocktails to the apps to the entrees and dessert was absolutely delicious. I'm glad we came as a large group because I was able to try so many things on the menu. I didn't try one thing that I did not like and the dishes that really stood out to me was the paneer, butter chickebn, rice and shrimp. The group we were with were all native Indian so if this place had their seal of approval it must be authentic!

My NYC daughter and I love Indian food and find Indian restaurants to enjoy whenever I visit her. Sona is by far and away our favorite. First, it's such a beautiful restaurant. You feel enveloped in peace as you walk in the door. Next, the staff is exceedingly gracious and competent, attentive without hovering. Water glasses fill magically and staff appear at just the right moment to take your order, deliver a course, check on your needs. But the food is the real star! We're not adventurous because, well, we find it hard to resist the opportunity to eat really good butter chicken. After reading the menu, we threw caution to the wind and ordered nearly every small plate to try as much as we could. OMG! We couldn't pick our favorite. Although we were thrilled with our choices and plan to be much more daring in the future, we will return for the butter chicken. As we were leaving, our table neighbors sang the praises of the butter chicken to our shared waiter, Allwyn. The gentleman was Indian and said his mother's butter chicken was so good that he didn't usually order it out. Sona's was as good in his opinion. . . but don't tell his mother! Do, however, head to Sona for a delicious meal and outstanding service in exquisite surroundings.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options!

Terrible food . I feel like they got their chicken briyani from the carts outside. Their appetizers have no substance except the shock value in name. This place is just a name. You're better off at the carts outside.

Food was good . But the service is not sooo great we had to ask twice for the desert menu. Vibe was great. They charge 20$ for delivering food to the table and still looking for the tip.

A wonderful experience. The food was a festival of flavors, the service very present and attentive, and all of it in a beautiful place. The rajma was outstanding, the raita was delicious, and the burrata butter chicken was very tender. The lovers quarrels dessert was a spectacle with smoke and fire, and on top of it, delicious. Can’t wait to be back.

It's a pretty space- but a bit overwhelming. I've been twice with a friend who is friends with the owner and you kind of feel swallowed and alone in the dining room- at lunch and at dinner. The food is good, but not great: small portions, very large prices. The service was okay but when I inquired about the chef my wait person laughed? I didn't get the joke. I asked the hostess later and she said that they were hiring a "big name" chef from India. I was told it was once a "hot" restaurant because Priyanka Jonas was involved somehow but has subsequently pulled her name. When I had dinner a few weeks ago the butter chicken was dry and the naan was damp as if it had been under a heat light. Cocktails are all priced in the $20s and they're just basic. For a Thursday evening it was really empty. Maybe the prices, and so-so food?
