One sponge cake is only $1.75! I got the black sesame flavor and it was really good. It was not overly sweet and it's a good light snack. The other flavors sounds very tasty, can't wait to try them next time.

Great moist sponge cakes, lots of interesting flavors. My favorite was the holiday rainbow sprinkles. Will be back to try the other flavors. Compared to the Kam Hing Bakery, slightly more moist.

The spot to stop at when in New York. The consistency of this sponge cake is remarkable. $1 for original and $1.25 for flavored..there is a sponge cake with chocolate in it and it just bursts with flavor. It taste authentic just like the ones from Hong Kong ??. This shop is off the main street and if you don’t see the sign you’d walk right past. The Best Sponge Cakes in New York.It is like a sterile cafeteria in here and clean. Go early in the morning when all the flavors are out. Later in the evening almost everything is almost gone. Check it out and you’ll be glad you did.

Most amazing place for this one of a kind sponge bread. Visually, muffin but when you take a bite, it's like consuming a cloud so light & fluffy. There's so many great flavors. This one is strawberry which is a must try. Grab a Vietnamese coffee to pair up with this as well. They also make them really well here.

It was my first time going, and I will come back for sure before I move away in the summer. The Spongies are AMAZING! Even days later, they still tasted fresh like the day they were baked, just heat them up! I discovered this place on social media, and since I was in the area already that day, I just had to go and try it for myself.I wish I could've taken pictures of the actual spongies I bought, but A) I broke my phone right after I took this one picture of the store front, and B) my kids devoured them when I got home. I got a dozen assorted flavors, and it was like $18, which is a great deal ??But now, to the reason why I'm giving this place only 4, more like 4.5 stars. THE MENU! I understand they change flavors frequently, but I wish it was posted somewhere available online so that out of towners (like me) or tourists can just make up their mind ahead of time and just know what to order in advance. The place is small to begin with. However, it wasn't busy when I went on a Tuesday afternoon. It isn't a huge deal, but I think it's an important aspect to consider. The flavors they had the day I went were Asian inspired. Some were more subtle in flavors than others, and I wish they'd label the individual plastic baggies so I would have known which flavor was which when I got home because I bought 1 of each flavor and most of them looked the same once you open the box. But other than that, their Spongies were divine. I never had them before, but they reminded me a bit of a Filipino bread called Mamon, but spongier and more fluffy and oh so good!

The sponge cake is so good! So light and airy and delicious - it wasn’t too sweet or anything. I highly recommend you stop for a couple if you’re in the area. The man serving me was so speedy making my blue moon lemonade and made me feel so welcomed. They have a few tables available but it’s a pretty small and cozy vibe.
My family and I came to China town to taste different dishes and we came as cross this spectacular cafe. This place did not fail to make us satisfied and crave for more. These, are by far, the best sponge cakes I've ever tried. They were very fluffy and not overly sweet. They were so light and delicious. Not only that, but they're very affordable. I would definitely come back! The cafe was very cozy and it was a nice environment.
