? Sushi 295 Mercer: A Hidden Gem in Greenwich village ?Nestled cleverly at the name address, Sushi 295 Mercer is a delightful surprise. It’s not easy to spot from the outside, especially for fast walkers. Once you step inside, you see a counter with just 4 chairs, but believe me - you’re in for a treat. Here’s why Sushi 295 Mercer stands out:Quality Fish: The owner focus is on top-notch fish. For just $23, you get a generous lunch meal of twelve sashimi, along with sushi rice on the side. The fish practically melts in your mouth, with exquisite flavors. I loved the sushi rice (not many places pay particular attention to it) – it was just the right texture, temperature, and the delicate taste – bravo!Authentic Experience: The ambiance is cozy, not vested much in interior design – but in the food. It feels local, fits well into the neighborhood, and the friendly staff adds to the warm atmosphere.Omakase Option: If you feel adventurous, they also have 12 pieces sushi omakase.I went for Sushi & Sashimi dinner set of 6 nigiri and 9 sashimi accompanied by a toro roll (some extra). Still remember the taste of each piece, from yellowtail to salmon to scallop to tuna to toro. Exquisite!Trust me, it is worth exploring. Whether you’re dining solo or grabbing takeout, whether you’re after exquisite sashimi or grabbing a spicy roll, Sushi 295 Mercer delivers quality sushi.Expect lines at times —word has spreading about this hidden gem!Excellent value for your money.Highly recommend.

By far the freshest and best sushi in the area. I’m so glad I discovered this spot - consistently amazing and authentic.

This was such an amazing experience, truly. I have been to Nobu and I would choose Sushi 295 over it EVERY SINGLE TIME. The staff is amazing, the fish is amazing, I am so glad we stumbled upon it because it will be my husband and I's go to from here on out. Amazing staff, and amazing fish, WOW!!

This place is such a delicious gem! This is some of the best sushi I've ever had and all in a tiny 5 seat space.

I've only ordered takeout from Sushi 295 Mercer. It is, by far, the best takeout sushi I've ever had. So fresh and delicious, and unbeatable at the price point. I had it for the first time a few weeks ago and have ordered many, many times since. Food comes fast, well-prepared, and the flavor is 10/10. I've gotten the spicy tuna avocado roll, the spicy salmon roll and the eel avocado roll. All are amazing but the spicy tuna & avocado are my favorite. 1000/10 recommend ordering from here, you won't regret it!

I thought the price of the food was fair. Ordered takeout through DD. The presentation could have been better but that might the nature of delivery. Got the sushi premium and the spicy tuna avocado roll. enjoyed the rolls but the sushi piece were only okay. Wouldn't call it affordable omakase quality but should say it's above the average sushi place. Probably would recommend more of the rolls. The sushi piece didn't feel that great quality

Need to put some other vegetables in house salad. Sushi is great but don’t understand why one of my rolls had 6 pieces while the other had 8. Miso soup size is

Fresh, incredible sushi paired with friendly service! This intimate sushi spot sits only 5 people but is very active for takeout. Sushi 296 Mercer is known for well-priced, extremely high quality fish that you can taste. Omakase is only $55, and I got lucky with a walk-in spot on a Wednesday. Sushi sets range from $33-$42 dollars.I’m based in Seattle, WA, and can’t imagine finding something this fresh for that price. I genuinely think this is the best sushi I’ve eaten (even compared to meals $100+). If you live nearby, I deeply envy you.

4.5 stars rounded up to 5. Good quality and I'll say good value by Manhattan standards though not inexpensive. I enjoyed the 36.95 sushi regular lunch special which was delivered on time.

Amazingly good. Tiny seating area (bar that seats 4 max)....so not the most ideal but once seated, everyone is super nice. Sushi was really good. Clearly the word is out because their takeout and delivery business seemed non stop.
