regarding the atmosphere and prices, I expected higher quality sushi an, unfortunately, I was disappointed. although the service was very friendly and the food arried very quickly, the sushi did not live up to my expectations. We oredered 4 different special rolls, but none of them suited me, It is noticeable that our waiter was extremely friendly, but, unfortunately, the culinary experience laft much to be desired. It`s worth notung that this my second visit to this establishment.

If you're going to Gotham Comedy come here first! They are fast! And tastes great. The service is fast and nice. The signature rolls are choice! Don't sleep on it. Literally the only thing that needs improvement is add a Spicy Garlic Edamame. Other than that... the sushi is fantastic.

$80 for the amount of sushi that fits in my palm. What. A. Rip. Off. The smallest sashimi pieces and smallest 6 piece rolls I've ever seen!!!! I added Avo and exchanged a cucumber (Naruto) instead of rice roll for the tuna and it came out to $23 for those small six pieces LOL For someone who eats sushi a few times a week I've never felt so robbed. Mad I didn't order Nobu instead.

Sushi Seki is, hands down, my favorite sushi restaurant (that isn't pricey omakase) in NYC. If you want an amazing sushi dinner that is high quality yet won't break the bank (less than $70 for a sushi dinner), I HIGHLY recommend Sushi Seki! I've been to their Chelsea and Times Square locations, but have yet to visit the original UES. The fish tastes so fresh, the rice is perfectly cooked/vinegared, and there is great variety. The restaurant is perfect for those who like traditional sushi (this comes from someone who has lived in Japan!) but also for those who prefer some with a more western/creative flair (although you won't find Philadelphia, Dragon, or other crazy rolls here). Their salmon with torched tomato sushi is a MUST. Their famous spicy scallop hand roll was a bit too oily for me, but my husband loves it. I'd rather save my stomach space for their fatty tuna that just melts in your mouth and their fluffy tamago (egg custard) sushi. They also have great edamame and even have hijiki seaweed salad, something that is super hard to find here in the states! It seems like in the last year or two the size of the sushi has gotten slightly smaller, but that could just be me wishing there was more. The staff is always so friendly, and their sushi chefs are the real deal--I conversed with mine in Japanese. It is always super packed, and be sure to request the sushi bar specifically if you want it. If not, they have some nice tables in the back. It's good for a date night or a night out with friends. Thank you, Sushi Seki, for being consistently amazing!

Free market and Entrepreneurialism at its finest. If people don't like it they don't have to eat it but don't stop other people from enjoying it.

This place exceeded my expectations. Staff was incredibly attentive, food came out quickly, and drinks were solid. Would absolutely recommend.Dietary restrictions: I have a terrible food allergy and they dealt with it brilliantly. Felt very comfortable eating here.

Excellent Sushi and Japanese Cuisine. Very attentive service and a very pleasant decor and atmosphere. Our NYC friends took us there, and said it was one of their favorites - we can understand why.

Hands down, the best sushi I have ever eaten. The price made my eyes water almost as much as the wasabi, but it was worth

Over priced for quality of sushi. The lighting is very dark and the fish didn’t taste very fresh. I won’t be coming back unfortunately

Always great food and comfortable space. Great service. Quiet enough you can have a conversation, loud enough you can't heard the one next to you. Pretty classic menu, consistently good.

It was sensational. We had the omakase at $150 a head so not cheap but the quality was impeccable and it was a memorable experience.

Omakase Sushi. The best in freshness, flavour and balance of salt to sushi. I had a glass of Wakataki Junmai daijinjo as well which was a perfect complement. Dessert was on the house( thank you sushi seki) which was coffee and vanilla mochi. (Not pictured) Perfect for a hot Saturday evening. $150 give or take. Go early when they first open. The best sushi in Chelsea.

Stopped by to order couple rolls, wanted to add a jalapeno to my maki roll, when I saw the bill, they charged me $4 for a piece of jalapeno???? The rolls are mediocre at best, and the service is confused and hectic.
