Exactly what we were looking for. Very thin crust and delicious pizza. Service was friendly, atmosphere not to noisy like so many Italian places.

This is one of my favorite pizza places of all of New York. My aunt lives across the street from them so anytime I'm at her house I like to order food at the location or take it Togo. I went in last night with some friends from school to pick up our pizza Togo. I called at 5:50 and they told us 20 minutes. We showed up at 6:20 and they took payment and told me it would be another 10 minutes. I've worked in the service industry so I understand especially on a Friday night that it could be busy. The manager then came over and said that we sit at the bar while we wait. I told her that we were fine that we could just stand because it was me and one other friend but she said she insisted since the pizza printers did not receive our order. Our third friend showed up from getting soda around the corner and the manager brought us two waters over. After five minutes past the bartender went up to the host and asked why we were sitting there if we were not ordering anything I understand why she was upset, but there should've been some kind of communication between the manager and her and it's not like it was crazy busy people waiting for tables. if she would have came over and asked us if we wanted anything to drink I would've ordered a drink from her, but she didn't want to come over towards us. She didn't even bring us waters as the Manager was the one that brought them over. When our pizza came out, we left and went back to my aunts to eat and the pizza was OK but it wasn't as good as it previously had been. I felt that the chipotle pizza lacked a flavor, there was nothing chipotle about it at all but my friend said that the other pizzas were pretty good. The place was busy when we got there, so I completely understood that there would be a wait and I had no issues with waiting, but the lack of customer service was strange to me.

Food and drinks were disgusting, never going back. Some drinks tasted like water the others tastes like rubbing alcohol. Bodega pasta tastes better. The worst pizza in nyc. Service was good, atmosphere was good.

The service is attentive and quick, I really appreciate the quick response from walking in to getting the bill, the pizza was really good, I loved it. The resturant also looks nice with the lights.

Delicious NY style pizza! I was very happy I was able to make a reservation for my family on a Sunday night. We were able to sit right away and our waiter came to the table with glasses of water immediately. The menu is filled with not only unique pizza options, but also traditional Italian pastas and salad. We ordered the meat lovers pizza to share among the 3 of us. It came out pretty quickly, fresh from the oven. The crust was wonderfully crispy thin with the cheese and meat toppings piled on top. The sauce had a sweetness to freshen the heavy meat flavor. I really enjoyed it and the flavors the seasonings combined to create! The large size was big enough for each of us to have 3 slices and feel full too. A great experience and some of the best pizza in the city I had during my trip.

I stopped by with a colleague on a weeknight around 8PM. There were tables available with no wait, though they were fairly busy. It had a good atmosphere -- nice ambient noise at a level where you could still have a good conversation, and good service. I'd say 5/5 for location, atmosphere, and service. The food was fine, but nothing special. The thin-crust wasn't anything fancy. The caesar salad was fine, but underwhelming. And the margherita pizza had a tasty sauce (just the right level of acidity and salt), but it was served with half-sliced cherry tomatoes, which was a bit funny and awkward to eat.

The pizza was thin crust, as promised. But lacked complexity. The mushroom pizza was simple and not particularly flavourful, either.ETA: Lots of places drizzle truffle oil on mushroom pizzas, Parmesan fries etc. Since the style of this pizza is more subtle than intense, I actually found the oil dominates. I should have said that I found the pizza not especially flavourful, but for the note of truffle oil, which may or may not be a true extract of real truffles (I am not an expert on this). I am sure many people enjoy this pizza, Tappo has lots of great reviews. This however, was my impression of the place. What would have improved the pizza in my view by lending its flavour profile more dimension is adding better quality, more flavourful mozzarella and maybe some sharp, hard cheeses, as also some dried savoury herbs.

What makes????What makes NY Pizza so awesome??It's about NY thin crust.Forget the deep dish Chicago for a while. Indulge in the ingredients. The freshness. The savory meets and fresh mozzarella.Tappo is a well designed place. Art deco style.Service is incredible. This is one of my best recommendations.Yo!
