Ordered take out on a rainy Friday evening ,order was easy to place and was ready in no time. Place was packed downstairs , we ordered one pie and Ceaser's salad. Only downfall salad dressing was a bit much. The pie was delicious. Was here 5 years ago and still is a great place

Wow, Angelo's Coal Oven Pizzeria was definitely outstanding. Was really surprised with the area where this is located. The menu is really terrific, many great choices, I had to go with Fried Calamari, and it was magnificent. Staff is really helpful and can help you with everything. So just try Angelo's Coal Oven Pizzeria yourself.

Absolutely some of the best pizza I have ever had. I ordered with 10 minutes left and they had no problem preparing my order. The pizza is thin and the crust is absolutely amazing. I 100% recommend this pizza.

Eating at Angelo's was a fantastic experience. The restaurants indoor/outdoor seating embodied the old Italian vibe, and the service was quick and excellent. My boyfriend and I split a large pizza, half sausage and half sundried tomatoes, and took leftovers too. This was probably the best pizza I've ever had!

In Tri State area for my birthday weekend so we decided to hit a few of Barstools greatest pizza places trying to find that perfect pizza. Before heading to MSG for the Rangers game we walked uptown to Angelo's Coal Oven on this gorgeous Sunday afternoon. Actually it was freezing LOL but it sounded better. Enter to this non descript restaurant since it was under construction material it was actually hard to find. Place was crowded for a Late lunch and it was social distanced. This trip was keeping it simple everywhere we went we ordered a large plain pizza and couple of sodas since that was what the trip was about. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give the pizza an 8 with bursting flavors of quality tomatoes while once again the coal oven just doesn't get the crust done the way I like it which is firm and crispy. This was very good but wasn't what I was expecting with all the accolades. Service was brisk and good bathrooms upstairs a pain in the butt. Was find but not quite sure what all the hype was about.

Absolutely excellent pizza. Cheese is perefecr and they use just the right amount. You can tell the sauce is fresh and homemade has just the right amount of zing to it. A wide variety of wonderful looking pies, I just had the straight traditional cheese, I can't wait to try some of the others. This place is excellent.

Beer was warm but pizza was spectacular! Came out smoking hot with a spectacular crust from the coat oven. Picture is a 13inch pie + mushroom - perfect for two people (can order half and half if needed)

So Anthony's got a 9+ review from barstool. Highest rating in midtown! Of course I had to go check it out! Always looking for a great pie! The sauce makes a pizza. Hands down it's the sauce. This sauce was very very good. So having a good sauce, this pizza was very good. Next on to the dough. The pizza was a tad thicker then I prefer but still in the realm that I would consider it thin enough! But the flavor of the dough is what really captured me! It was tasty in itself. They were able to get a lovely flavor into the dough which made this pie very tasty! Sometimes dough tastes like nothing, this had its own character. The cheese was real mozzarella as opposed to shredded (if you know pizza you know what I mean! Lol) a few leaves of fresh basil on top. Very nice. I got half meatball, and even the meatballs had a nice flavor. Put all the different flavors together, that each in themselves were prominent, made for a really pleasant pizza experience! Will definitely go there again if I want pizza in midtown.

AN INCREDIBLE PIE. I've lived close to the place for a while and didn't realize how delicious it is until recently. I saw it was rated one of the best pizzas by barstool sports and was down the street so I went. So so glad I did. Crust is crispy yet thick, sauce was on the sweeter side but I loved it, and it tasted so fresh. This spot is also right next to Central Park, so it's great for grabbing a pie and then heading to the park!

We ordered two small pizzas and an appetizer and two beers. Came to over $100 which is normal price for NY. But the pizza was terrible. Soggy inside, burnet outside and worse is that it has no taste. Cheese with no taste. Dough with no taste. It felt like cheaper than cheap pizza ingredients. I just want you Yelpers to know what you are getting into.
After spending several days in New York City, I really needed this food, And they did not fail me. A simple dinner of a vegetarian pizza and a big salad for 2 Hit the proverbial spot. This is a welcoming establishment With no pretentions. My husband and I were swiftly seated Using social distance protocols and quickly given a glass of water. Our waiter was both friendly and accommodating. And, oh the food! The salad, full of vegetables, was perfectly dressed and liberally sprinkled with shredded parmesan cheese. I couldn't stop thinking about it all night long. We ordered the small pizza which was so big that we took a few slices back to the hotel. Served piping hot the crust was thin and tasty and the toppings perfect. A Peroni made this dinner complete. Yum!

Although I haven't tried many pizza places in NYC yet, this pizza was incredible. The crust was thin, crisp, chewy, and cooked to perfection. The amount of cheese and tomato sauce was just right. It was topped with lots of fresh basil. The prices were very reasonable and the dining area was very classy. I will definitely be coming back!

COVID report: this location of Angelo's currently has indoor seating and takeout. My boyfriend and I got takeout for dinner one night and it was fantastic. We shared a half plain, half veggie pizza -- the plain side was actually my favorite, because it was basically margherita -- and an order of rigatoni alla vodka. The veggie side of the pizza was a little soggy so next time I'd stick to plain. Definitely will be back for more pizza and pastas!! 4.5 stars.

Very nice place with great staff ! Everything was clean and fresh ! We had a whole cheese pizza to ourselves. Everything tasted fresh! From the bread to the sauce all the way down to the cheese ! The basil leaves on top just brought out the flavors even more !
