I intentionally skipped Kolkata to try chai spot and it was disappointing. Service was very unprofessional, standoffish, and not welcoming at all. I asked a couple of questions while debating what to order, which were met with short snippy sarcastic answers. I didn't feel comfortable anymore and just wanted to get out of there. The chai was mid. I wont be back. Ambiance seemed really cool out front and inside the back area of the restaurant, but after the poor service and flat drink, I didn't want to stick around for seating.

Nice vibes and good samosa and chai but way too overpriced for what you get. If folks back home knew I was spending 20 bucks on two chais and samosas....

The food was perfect for those who enjoy spice as when ordering the samosas (potato and peas), they come with a medium spice level drip which adds a rainbow of flavors. Overall the samosas are a good 7/10 only due to the fact that they are 2/$6 Then there is the tea. I got the classic tea which was amazing,(8.5/10) Once you go back they require you to take your shoes off and lie down on couches full of pillows. The room has an amazing relaxing zen to it that will put anyone at ease. The only 2 negatives about the place is that the food took a little while to be served but the wait was worth it. The 2nd negative is the price, it is about 8-9$ for tea and $6 for 2 Samosas. Other then that it is a amazing experience and if your in Chinatown it is a must have

Really cute concept but I didnt like this place at all in practice. - first, appearances: The back room is just that - a back room. People manage to make it look real cute in pics but in reality its dusty, no windows, low ceilings, feels like you're in a basement. The rugs and pillows were stained and littered with crumbs and stuff -- I didn't feel clean sitting there or walking around without my shoes. - second, the service: I feel bad because one guy was staffing the place while there on a busy Sat but he was so rude and impatient while we were ordering and asking about the menu and when we tried to clarify if we should wait for our order or if it'd be brought to us. It took a long time to get two chais and we came with a group of 6 and everyone was getting things out of order. - three, $$: I don't mind spending $7 on a decent cup of chai esp for small businesses. Would rather have this chai than support a corp like starbucks. So idc about that which seems to be most peoples complaints. But the packaged snacks like Pocky are really overpriced here.

Found the chai spot a little disappointing compared to what I was expecting. Loved that they had a lot of chai options including decaf chai tea, but found the drinks to be just OK. Did not like the vibe of the space inside- lots of people and noisy. Outside was better but would not come again.

I went to this place for a small meeting with someone and The Chai Spot is super cozy! Even though, when I was there, it was quite crowded, but I barely felt that way. the tables are a bit small, and the drinks are pricey, but other than that, it's a great place to just go in and talk with your

chai is way too sweet, insufficient staff to manage their volume

A+ for comfort but B for the chai. This fun spot is great for chatting and sipping on tea, or even alone curled up with a book. The pillow seats are very comfortable. There's a no shoe policy so I do wonder how they keep everything hygienic though. The chai was a bit disappointing. I was hoping for some stronger proper chai flavors but overall it was a bit flat. Still nice to sit and sip on a rainy day.

Cute place relax with a cuppa chai after sightseeing all day or on a rainy day. Must take your shoes off so be sure to have a pair of socks on hand.

It could have been more comfortable if they didn’t have flourescent lighting in the whole place. Makes it very hard to relax.

This place is a gem. I’m glad they survived the pandemic. A lovely spot with good vibes and fantastic chai.

This is a small cute cafe to gather and socialize as there is a back room lounge area as well as a patio to drink chai and catch up with friends. They have a vegan option using coconut milk which I appreciate. The area is a little small so it can get packed relatively easily on the weekends.
