The ambiance is inviting, with tasteful decor, but what truly sets this restaurant apart is its food. Each dish is a masterpiece, crafted with care and attention to detail. But it's not just the food that impresses; the service is impeccable as well. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable, always on hand to offer recommendations or answer any questions. In summary outstanding food and top-notch service.

The place is amazing, beautiful service with great food, and choices for vegetarians. The vege burger i had was incredible, probably the best one in the city. A must go especially if you like french food!

I had the pleasure of being invited by my friend Artur to brunch at The Consulate, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The restaurant is beautifully designed, with a two-floor layout in Midtown that exudes elegance and charm. The addition of a DJ playing great songs added a lively touch to the ambiance. The food at The Consulate was truly exceptional. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. While I enjoyed most of the menu items, I would advise against ordering the tiramisu as it didn't quite meet my expectations. The service at The Consulate was top-notch, with attentive staff who ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. The atmosphere was lively and fun, making it an ideal spot for a Sunday brunch with friends looking for a vibrant environment filled with excitement.Overall, I highly recommend The Consulate for anyone looking to enjoy a fantastic brunch experience in a stylish setting with great food, exceptional service, and a lively atmosphere. It's definitely a place worth visiting for a memorable dining experience.

My wife and I were in town and decided to have a nice sit down dinner before catching our train home and The Consulate didn’t disappoint! They had a great selection of food/drinks and very friendly staff. We were actually almost late for our train - and the staff was very accommodating and boxed our meals/gave us the check ASAP. Would definitely visit again.

Loved the atmosphere definitely my kind of place. Great for big parties. I had a ton of wine with some friends & went to straight to dessert. The tiramisu needed a little bit more coffee it was too dry for my liking* I never write negative comments but I’m such a sucker for tiramisu I hope they fix it bc I really like this place & most likely end up ordering it again. The DJ was also really good I didn’t get her name but I really enjoyed the songs it wasn’t too loud at all which I appreciated and I sat directly in front of the DJ booth. Thanks for a lovely time!

Correction... went to the UWS Location:My wife and I had a wonderful experience on Tues. 3/26/2024 (our 13th anniversary). Everyone was pleasant... from the hostess to Petra, our server; and the busmen. We ordered oysters and the wild mushroom Pinza bread with truffles for appetizer, and for our entree filet mignon, and hanger steak (perfect medium temp). The food was incredibly exquisite, and the drinks were also amazing (Kiss of life, and Old Fashion). It was our first visit, but we will be back soon (can't wait :-)

Very upscale, classy French restaurant with great decor and ambiance. Their lamb tartare was fenomenal, so short rib cavatelli. Also, their signature burger with foei gras was very good.So how come only 3 stars for the food? Well, this is because of the high expectations from such a place. You expect everything to be a top-notch. So their special corn salad, according to the menu, should have some truffles. In my dish, I wasn't able to detect even a trace of it. But I got it, mistakes happened, and our server was very kind to remove it from the bill. But what really upset me was the French fries that came with their signature $30 burger. My expectations were hand cut, skin on crispy fries, but no. I got a cheap diner version of fries that you probably can get in your local pharmacy in the frozen food section. The other thing is coffee, I drink black coffee, and frankly, I've had better one in corner Bodega stores. It is not acceptable for a French restaurant to have a plane, tasteless, watery coffee.I guess our server was very kind that she offered us espresso martini shots on the house, and as a former bartender with 10 years behind the bar, that espresso martini was on the par with their coffee. I hope the rest of their drinks are better. But don't get me wrong, the place is great, and I would definitely give them another chance, maybe in a different location, though.
