*Unethical Convenience Fee Charge For Kiosk Use*I visited last Sunday at an off-time in the afternoon so there was no line inside and it was not busy. When I entered there is a self-service kiosk that you can order from. Naturally I ordered using it but Patisserie Chanson did not disclose that it charges customers 50 cents for using it. This is not legal to charge a convenience fee without the awareness of the customer and I have never had a vendor charge the customer for using a self service kiosk. This cost is normally absorbed by the company. If I had known there would be a fee I would've ordered directly with the cashier. Like I said, there was no line so no need to use a kiosk. I have emailed them about this and have not received a response, will not be returning or supporting this business.

I live in the area and wanted to try this place for some time now. I walked in recently wanting to order some pastry, and the lady in the front completely ignored me. I said hi, waved, smiled, to try to get her attention. After she saw me, she went went downstairs immediately. After she came back up, she didn't look at me and went to the back and stayed there ... so at that point I figured she didn't want to serve me and I left. I've lived in NYC for over 10 years and I'm totally fine with waiting, but it's the fact that she didn't acknowledge my presence at all that I found to be incredibly rude.

Keeping It Real Reviews

My visit to Patisserie Chanson left much to be desired. Despite its upscale appearance, the overall experience fell short of expectations. I opted for the Creme Brulee pancake/waffle, only to find it disappointingly soggy and excessively sweet, almost as if drenched in pure sugar. The accompanying fruit lacked ripeness, and the jam had an artificial, grocery-store taste that detracted from the dish's quality. The texture was underwhelming, lacking the desired crunch and feeling undercooked.Similarly, the pain-au-chocolat was a letdown. Sparse on chocolate and seemingly stale, it gave the impression of having been left out for an extended period.Adding to the disappointment was the stark emptiness of the restaurant, with more staff than patrons. The sight of chefs and cooks congregating with servers further emphasized the lack of customers. The wobbly tables only added to the less-than-premium experience.Overall, while Patisserie Chanson may boast an attractive facade, the quality of both the food and ambiance failed to meet expectations.

We walked right in for a late breakfast and were welcomed immediately. They took their time explaining different dishes to us. The food was excellent. Highly recommend the Jambon sandwich. Croissants were flaky and expertly laminated. Chef's kiss!

Went to get desserts but ended up eating brunch there. Loved! the passion fruit tart Napoleon wasn’t as crispy as I’d expect.

Terrible experience for at least three times.I was stopping by for breakfast multiple times in the last six months, it was consistently bad experience. They didn’t have pastries, they didn’t have any food, etc. My visit on Oct 19 was the last. I came at 8.10am to grab some coffee and the place wasn’t open despite having open hours starting at 8am. An employee said that they were running late. No apologies, no questions. Just a dark and empty space. Not coming any more!

Coffee was ok but then I'm Australian and our standards are vastly different. The pastries were also very good, the Kouign Amman was flaky and delicious but not the right shape in a scroll not a crown.

We shared that my surprise on Valentine’s Day was from Patisserie Chanson and we enjoyed it so much. Hence, we decided to give their brunch menu a try.We were still appealed by their pastries when we walked in even though we knew it wasn’t our favorite kind. However, the quality is stable with reasonable price. We used their app to get dine-in orders since there are food photos for reference and we were able to check their daily promotions. We shared Market Salad, Creme Brûlée French Toast, Hot Lobster Roll and Merguez Migas. It was overall decent with reasonable price & portion.

Long overdue review for Chanson.I come here so often, the secrets out. This is one of my favorite bakeries in the city.I love the seasonal black sesame ice cream, this is only available during the summer. If you like your black sesame rich in flavor. Say no more, this is the place to go!The pastries, will depend on your preference. I love their croissants, they're flakey, and fragrant. My husband and I love the following croissant- Almond, delicious and full of flavor. I think one of the best almonds we've had.- Raspberry, evenly spread of jam inside and coating on the outside.- Savory Croissant, each bite is decadent The sandwiches are delicious too, I was shocked with how flavorful their bread and meats were. Normally I dont expect much but I was pleasantly surprised.Staff is always friendly and welcoming.
