Vibe was amazing! On a Friday night, it was full but not crowded. Food was surprisingly delish. Bartender was attentive. A spot to check out after work.

Ate a Saturday brunch with friends. Decided that it is a bar with food on the side. Good selection of brunch options from salads to a burger. Food was good. Noise level a bit high. Excellent waiter. No decaf coffee! It would have made my brunch so much better!

Loved this place pre 2020. Used to be my go-to, however, it's changed now. The cocktails are still solid in the evenings.Though, went for brunch today and the food quality and flavor was really lacking. Would not suggest the place to eat, however, if you want good drinks, come in the evening.Gin drinks seem to be the better of the batch.

Food was great, drinks were great. Bartender knows what they're doing. Food is unique and tasty.I liked the Thanksgiving egg rolls, the shrimp, the chicken, and grilled cheese a lot, and I wish I could ordered some of the other stuff too.Atoosphere is cool, decor is hip industrial and has personality. Unfortunately, it's loud. Couldn't speak to someone in booth that wasn't next to me or across.

Best place to hang out with friends and your love ones! All the cocktails I’ve tried were delicious and flavorful, they used the high quality liquor and ingredients. So even I’ve had 6 glasses of cocktails I didn’t feel so drunk just a little tipsy I would say. And Eddie the server she was giving us the best service ever, thank you for your hospitality. Will definitely back!!

A nice bar restaurant with the a classic menu. We came here with a group of 8 and got seated fairly quickly. Highly recommend getting the Mac and cheese.

Tried the tomato soup, Mac n cheese and popcorn chicken. All were pretty good and the service was nice too. The ambiance is your classic American vibe

Quick, attentive service where the waiter kept doing a great job to check-in on us. Although no photos, a very beautiful restaurant.Food was absolutely delicious and affordable! My friend and the Turkey Club while I had the Charred Zucchini Hero (highly, highly, highly recommend - would definitely come back for this!). We shared the tater tots, which were not only delicious but a huge shareable bowl for the two of us.

The Penrose is one of my favorite gastropubs in Manhattan. I am neither drunk nor exaggerating when I say that their fried chicken sandwich is the best that I've ever had anywhere. The batter miraculously retains its crispiness even with the spicy mayo, coleslaw, and pickles on top- which is just a testament to how freshly prepared it is. The brioche bun is sweet and delicious, and all of the flavors just work so well together. I wolfed it down so quickly that I didn't get a photo, so trust me it's that good!! The inside is so cool too, another one of those "only in nyc" layouts that extends far back onto the block. There are so many little table/booth nooks to settle into with your significant other or group of friends, somehow right in the middle of the action but in your own little world. My favorite place to sit is in the very back near their second bar area. The bartender there was really nice and kept the refills coming!

We stopped in for a beer and a bite before our 530 reservations across the street. The Penrose has happy hour i believe from 3-7pm and the kitchen opens at 430. I got the usual Guinness and my friend got some other beer called a Staten? at just after 430 we ordered the burnt shishito peppers, which was an adventurous first for me. they were pretty spicy. the bartender was great, the atmosphere was chill, i would definitely return for more menu selections, i was intrigued by the "charred zucchini hero' and the Cocktails i would love to try the Bada bing and the Slow Jamz. The bathrooms are downstairs, and only 2 stalls. it was by no means a bust time and it was a wait. when i came back upstairs i realized there's a whole back portion of the bar with i think another back bar? I would like to see the weekend crowd for sure.

Great food and service! Not a long wait even during busy times. Great selection of draft beers. Will definitely return!
