The Roof is actually located in the Le Meridien hotel and the entrance to the roof is at 120 W 57th. I passed it several times because the description online said it was at the Viceroy hotel. Just a heads up, there is another rooftop bar called The Roof and that’s in the LES. I went on a stormy night and there weren’t a lot of people there, but the servers were still servicing people. The view was still nice and the ambience didn’t change. Then music was a loungy and the drinks were good. It’s a comfy setting. Great for groups or date night. Drinks are pretty average for a lounge can be around $25 depending on what you get, but they’re good and the server comes to take your order. They also have an extensive list of liquor which is a plus.

The hostess was a bit unfriendly and the service was a bit slow. I’ll give it another go but there are likely better rooftops to visit in NYC.

Nice enough rooftop bar. Two gripes: it was not busy at all and it took the waitress 15 minutes to come over and another 15 for drinks to come. I’m being generous. When the check came they folded it so you wouldn’t see that they charge an additional 8% to “defray the rising costs of running a restaurant” but they’ll take it off if you ask. Seriously?! $19 drinks aren’t enough to be profitable? Raise your prices then, don’t sneak in an additional charge.

The views are spectacular and the ambiance comfortable and cozy, with a friendly and competent staff. We really enjoyed The Roof because of the views of the city AND the unpretentious atmosphere.

Visited this place yesterday, chose it because it was just a short walk from our hotel and we wanted to have a couple drinks on the rooftop. When we entered, there were no empty seats anywhere. One of the ladies told us we could have a seat at the bar inside, and a waitress would take our order even though that bar was closed, there was no bartender. About 15 minutes later after no one acknowledging our presence, The same lady brought over a couple of drink menus. After waiting about another 10 minutes, one of the hosts came up and told us if we wanted a beverage that bar was closed, we would need to go to the other bar near the entrance in place our order for our drinks. Also, the view would be much better if the windows were not so dirty. I would not recommend this if you want a decent rooftop experience.

Unmatched views anywhere from south of Central Park, $19 cocktails with a wide selection. Great bourbon and scotch.

Great vibe and views. The bartenders NaNa and Fabian are the best!

The roof is brilliantly set on the world most wealthy street. Even better is the scenery, service, and aura of the establishment; a must-see place indeed.

The whole experience was amazing, great view, warm people, good choices of drinks, comfortable seating. I would highly recommend to just chill, lounge about and have fun, and the bartender Jessica was by far the best bartender I've ever had

Nice rooftop with views of Central Park. However the hours are not updated accurately on google. Went there again recently and had to find some place else since they were closed. Try calling the hotel to check if The Roof is open before heading over.

by playing concerts on the rooftop at night you are violating NYC and NYS laws on noise. I just called the police so hopefully they will send you some tickets. You are depriving me of my sleep and this will cost you money as i’m definitely going to complain to the mayor office and ask them to shut you down.
