I really liked it! My friends and I go crazy for board games, this was a really nice place for 10 dollars per person for 3 hours. The workers are very very nice, they were clear, helpful and immediately explained the rules and everything. They were active and the games were very organized. You also have a lot of option to even buy the games. There were 1 floor to ceiling wall of playable games and 3 walls and displays of buyable games. Not kid friendly though, a lot of adults males playing role play boardgames (the ones that are long, takes 1-3 hours to play and require a lot of experience). Loved the experience I will be returning ❤️ The bad reviews about the broken AC did not occur for us, the rooms were nicely aired and it was completely normal. I recommend going around 11-12, after it might get busy.

I work with queer teens in mental health and suddenly needed a space to meet a teen in as my office had flooded, so I decided to come here very last minute. When I got to The Uncommons everyone was kind and welcoming, they've created a very safe space for people, but especially for queer teens. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, I truly am so glad I happened to stumble upon this place. I'm absolutely going to be recommending it to the other teens (and other queer people) I work with as it's a safe, cozy space to play and relax.

Perfect snow day activity! $5 all you can play boardgames and a great selection of espresso and craft beers! Seriously good time playing old childhood games like Guess Who and newer ones like What Do You Meme? Impressive selection. Will be back for the Unicorn Glitter White Hot Chocolate while playing the Unicorn game. Great staff, super cosy hang out!

Very nice place. Has lots of games to choose from. Coffee was excellent. Make sure to make a reservation ahead to get a table! Place is small but packed with people and games. Lots of fun if you’re in New York on a rainy day and want something to do that’s inexpensive.

The Uncommons has a special place in my heart. It was the first gaming cafe I ever discovered in NYC. The people who work there have always been passionate, kind, helpful, and make the place as amazing as it is.That’s why I stand with their union and implore everyone to support labor. Choose carefully where your money goes. Choose to patronize shops where workers are part of the decision making process, terms are collectively bargained, and the environment fair and equitable.

I love the Uncommons - I recommend it for anyone who is a fan of boardgames. Their staff has always been really great to me! That's why I'm so glad they recently unionized:)I know they are in the middle of Union negotiations, so as long as they meet the demands of their amazing staff I will continue to recommend it to everyone who says they like boardgames and I will take my friends there regularly:

Love this place, I come here often to play board games and Magic. The employees here are very friendly and knowledgeable about the games they stock, and when it comes to Magic, Casey is a great facilitator and judge. Definitely recommended as long as the store supports their unionized workers.

My gf and I pop in here sometimes to sit and play board games. The workers are friendly and knowledgeable — plus they have a union. Awesome.Recommend to other fans of board/card games. Heard they have a broken AC so hopefully that is fixed before the next visit!
