My partner and I decided to treat ourselves to a date night yesterday and we are still talking about our experience. We were greeted with warmth and sat at a lovely corner table facing the entire restaurant. The environment was classy and comfortable featuring soft cozy seating (which is lacking in some upscale spots) which set the tone for relaxation and immediately made us excited to scan the menu. We started with bread and their house mushroom butter (which I wish I had a case of) followed by tuna tartare that was so flavorful and yet so light as well as the burrata which I highly recommend as a sort of palate cleanser as it is fresh and hums of spring. We indulged in a plate of gnocchi which honestly knocked my socks off and made me sink into my seat (or it could have been the well balanced cocktails we were sipping on - get The Underdog if you like rye). Now we get to the main players which proved to be classic, simple and very well done - the lamb as well as the wagyu. I appreciate that the proteins were featured with delicate reductions and seasonal greenery really honoring the ingredients. We wrapped up the night with a little dessert spread with the sorbet being our favorite and also such a fun presentation. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the extraordinary service from beginning to end with Sammy being our guide with excellent explanations of all dishes and Adam who set us up and proved to be an accommodating and gracious host. We can’t wait to go back and indulge yet again in this fantastic experience.

Food is nice, we ordered 4 course. The food is amazing, especially the Wagyu and the scallops. No wonder it’s a Michelin star 1. Service is okay.

This place was amazing. I did the five course tasting menu, from start to finish the food was spectacular. The only note for the food I have is the short rib was slightly tough, but not terribly so and the flavors were still amazing. Where the restaurant truly shines is there sommelier Eitan . I wanted to be take through the courses with different wines and I told him I trusted his opinion and was not disappointed. The one thing that made me give a 4 stars and not 5 is I felt the waiter could have been more attentive, Oumar didn’t check in on how my food was and most conversations I had were with the Somm I wish I could have tipped only him because he was more my waiter then Oumar was.

Beautiful presentations, creative dishes and fast and friendly service. The steak tartare, gnocchi and the burrata were stand outs. The entree options were generally meh, so I’d focus in on the starters.Very stylish interior and it’s generally easy to get reservations here. A very accessible choice for someone looking to knock off a Michelin star in NYC. It’s a bit bonkers to charge $12 for bread though.

I’m a big fan of my drink being refilled without having to ask and they really keep up with me! I’m a thirsty guy. I increased my too solely because of this.Vegetarian options: Get the brioche with seaweed butter!

I had mixed feelings about this place. The food was okay, but the service at my table was not up to par. The server struggled to get our orders together, and drinks took nearly 20 minutes to arrive, despite multiple reminders. We were seated near the bar, and hotel guests enjoying drinks there nearly knocked over our table a couple of times. While this isn't entirely the restaurant's fault, they shouldn't cram in so many tables, especially considering they're a Michelin-starred establishment — they're not a diner!

Unfortunately the food was disappointing, it wasn't at the quality we'd expected from a Michelin star restaurant. We found much better food at much less vaunted places in New York.

Restaurant week here was great. Sushi rice was a great dish. Good “night out” restaurant. A tasting menu would further elevate the already enjoyable experience. Would return.Edit/update upon second visit: they charged $16 for water. Seems just a bit scammy to me bcs nbd is going to ask how much non tap is if it’s not on the menu. Even 3 star restaurants don’t do this.

Lives up to its Michelin star. Sushi tasted freshly caught, and cleaned spectacularly! Our waiter knew the menu well, read our reservation for diet preferences (without us reminding him), and made menu recommendations that complimented one another (not talking about wine). In the future, we will stay at the hotel upstairs just to eat the food here.

Came here last Valentine's Day so may be a bit outdated. The ambience was cute - Had something unique that I don't usually see so can appreciate that. Service was great as expected though food came out slow - note this was Valentine's Day so perhaps faster on a usual night. Food was good though not particularly my cup of tea but could appreciate the creativity. Coat check process was a bit hectic but given the amount of people, I was impressed how the folks there managed to keep up.

I went here for their restaurant week menu and can see why they have a Michelin star! The service here was amazing. They check your coats for free. They never let my water glass get empty. Everything we had was solid good. Our favorites were the organic chicken, braised pork belly and homemade cheesecake. I almost didn't recognize the organic chicken because of it's oblong shape, but it was so tender and delightfully surprised it came with a crispy chicken the shape of a chip! The braised pork belly was also really good. The mustard sauce was not too sharp and it came with a crispy skin. The homemade cheesecake was super clever shaped like cheese and the apple compote the shape of a mouse. The cheesecake was the perfect sweetness and sharpness. It was surprisingly soft and I don't know how it held it's shape. The drinks were small, but fun. They had seasonal cocktails with names like "He's Just Ken", but it was just a bit tart for me. We went during dinner time and the atmosphere was a great date night spot. We could tell that it would also be a great lunch spot with all of the windows and real plants (really appreciated that).

As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a host for reservations, the host wasn't particularly friendly. In fact I did call 30 minutes earlier to let the restaurant know that I'd be running 5 minutes late but was given some sass on the phone call. It wasn't rude but it definitely didn't give a first good impression. So already walking in I was a bit timid. We were seated quickly and the service was super friendly, our waiter gave us wine recommendations based on our tastes and we enjoyed our choices. The ambiance of the restaurant was alright, you can check in your coat so you don't have to put it on the chair. Our table was close to the bar and near the entrance so maybe that's why we also didn't have much of an "ambient" table. We had the parmesan milk bread, and it was alright. the texture was very chewy. I had the peri peri chicken and my friend had the lamb neck. Both of us thought it was decent but nothing too special. We really wanted to love the place because we knew it was michelin star. For dessert we had the jasmine panna cotta, which was really really sweet, and they also gave us another dessert on the house, not too sure what it was but it was too bitter. I think overall all the food was maybe too strong in flavor profiles. I won't be visiting again but I'm glad I gave it a try

I could certainly see why Vestry received a 2023 Michelin Star -- boasting a beautiful space, excellent service, and elevated - delicious food! Was excited to see that they participated in NYC Restaurant Week and was able to snag a reservation. The hostess was warm and friendly and the space was modern and beautiful. They even lined their chairs with an Alpaca wool cover (I think: still processing how I feel about that but it was super comfy). Wait staff were very attentive and offered suggestions for drinks and meal options. Appetizers were excellent: - Sourdough bread was warm and fresh, served with an earthy mushroom flavored butter - Salmon Crudo had the most delicious citrus dressing contrasted with tapioca like salmon roe - Pork belly was perfectly tender and crispy Main Course: Delicious garlic marinated shrimp grilled to perfect Crispy skin chicken was tender and delicious Desert: The cheesy cheesecake in a league of its own. Whimsical and delicious (a must) Chocolate moose was good but not spectacular Can't wait to return for other menu items
