I love the oxtail here. It's so flavorful. I have also had the chicken soup as well as the j*** chicken!! Good food!!

The first bite was yummy The rice is flavorful and cooked perfectly, the cabbage as well. The chicken was slow cooked to a pleasing consistency of tender and juicy meat in a delicious gravy!

I was gonna write this review 5 orders ago but I kept giving chances. I use to love this place. As of late, I have no idea what’s going on in there. Prices going higher and higher while the quality of the food is awful. $25 for this oxtail plate with a $5 and all I wanna do is throw this whole plate against a wall. Oxtails all dry and tough like they’re a couple days old. Like trying to chew rubber. Plantains can’t even be distinguished because it’s nothing but mush. Rice all wet and soggy. I will never spend another cent in this place. Completely disgusted.

Listen, I come here almost as often as every Monday. This might be my favorite place in the city and for more reasons than one. Namely, I love the people that work here. You are taken care of and treated with warmth and respect. The food. Really doesn’t get any better. For 9 bucks or so (before tax), I get a medium jerk chicken plate with plantains and cabbage and rice and peas and the best jerk sauce there is. And when they have it, I get their pineapple ginger drink. It’s glorious. From the moment I come in to the moment I leave. Go here and enjoy it for yourself.
Very disappointed. Tasteless Oxtails. I wish it came with a packet of salt. I only kept eating because it was $21 for a medium. I didn't want to waste my money. The cabbage was old and almost spoiled. Someone should also tell them that some salt in the rice would not hurt.

What's on your plate on 142 and Lenox is a great little neighborhood spot with great food. The food is seasoned and cooked well. I highly recommend that you give this place a try.

SO DISAPPOINTING!!!! I don't know what happened to this spot! Yes, the food is good but the service is ATROCIOUS!! As a person of color I hate using the phrase " they had an attitude" but the shoe fits all too well in this situation. I have no problem paying for quality, and would have gladly payed $26 for Ox tails ( cause they are my favorites)! What I won't do is spend my money in an establishment that treats me like I'm an inconvenience or like they doing me a favor by taking my money ( I gave this place MULTIPLE chances cause we all have had a bad day or two). This place use to be so welcoming and I loved coming in ( back when there was a woman running the front end, they should have kept her)! Now EVERY TIME I go in it's always a grumpy old man that gives me attitude for wanting to spend my money here. They don't have ANYTHING up showing pricing and don't ask questions cause lord you gone piss him off! I asked if they had j*** chicken wings....NO ( ummm ok as I look around wondering how I'm suppose to know what you got if it's not posted). Well do you guys have a menu... this old man looked me up and down like I was annoying him. WTF!!! I have worked in customer service for 20 years ( part of that was in food service), and currently as a business owner. I can tell this business has no training in customer service. I LOVE supporting black owned businesses but not when they have piss poor customer service! I can get my j*** wings and ox tails somewhere else where I'm seen as a welcome patron and not an inconvenience or annoyance.

This is my seventh time ordering from them and they have screwed up my food once again I even wrote a note to remind them to add in my Mac and cheese which I paid extra for as a side and they didn't even do it. They didn't even call to say that there is no more mac & cheese. I even left my number and information. they really don't care about the customer and just wants your money not even an apology not even can I substitute the mac & cheese with something else just know cares in the world.
