Working as a barback/backserver at Primo Waterfront in Newburgh, NY was an experience that tested both my physical endurance and patience. The role involved rigorous labor with little to no regard for safety standards. Despite the challenging nature of the job, the atmosphere within the workplace was marred by unprofessional management practices, high turnover rates, and disheartening employee morale.First and foremost, the management at Primo Waterfront demonstrated a lack of professionalism, which permeated throughout the workplace. This manifested in various ways, including a disregard for employee safety, failure to pay employees on time, and an overall lack of respect for the workforce. The business owner's apathy towards employee concerns only exacerbated the situation, creating a toxic work environment where employees felt undervalued and unsupported. One of the most concerning aspects of my time at Primo Waterfront was the inconsistency in payroll. Many employees, myself included, experienced delays in receiving our wages, causing financial strain and frustration. This issue was compounded by the management's dismissive attitude towards employee grievances, further eroding trust and morale within the team.Additionally, the high turnover rate at Primo Waterfront was indicative of deeper systemic issues within the organization. Veteran employees, who were respected by their peers and possessed valuable institutional knowledge, were unjustly terminated by new management without valid reasons. This not only destabilized the workforce but also contributed to a sense of insecurity and disillusionment among remaining staff members.Overall, my experience as a barback/backserver at Primo Waterfront was characterized by arduous labor, inadequate safety measures, unprofessional management, and low employee morale. While I gained valuable skills and experience in the hospitality industry, the detrimental work environment ultimately overshadowed any potential benefits. Primo Waterfront's management must prioritize the well-being and dignity of its employees to foster a culture of respect, accountability, and long-term success.

Delivery order was all freshly made and exceptional in quality. Portions are large and satisfying. I got the tagliatelle and added shrimp and it was excellent. Also got spaghetti and meatballs and I like the way they not only bake the meatballs but must sautee them as they had a nice crust and were huge and delicious. I will be ordering again.Vegetarian options: Pizza, pasta, salads.

Very unprofessional. They have no problem screwing people over and when you disagree with anything they post they call you a loser.I was “let go” in August because they didn’t want to pay my salary for the winter then come to find out less then ONE month after firing me, my assistant was promoted to my job. I am not the first person this has happened to. In my opinion that’s a disgustingly run company. There is also a high turnover rate which makes sense. I wouldn’t recommend this business to anyone. There are much better restaurants on the Newburgh waterfront with much better food options but actual professionals running them.

We had the salad w/squid ink, octopus, pasta with muscles and salmon… EVERYTHING was perfect! The place is beautifully maintained, open concept and very sophisticated. The waitress was attentive. We’ve visited many restaurants since moving upstate and this is one of the best. We plan on returning once the weather gets warmer to enjoy the outside seating.Parking: Plenty of parking- was able to find a spot directly across the street. Although is paid parking, it is not expensive. We were there from 6:40pm and paid until 10:00pm which was $6.00.

Drinks are great. Chefs are great. Hospitality is average. This is a really neat spot along the river. Newburghs waterfront is really starting to make its mark around the Hudson Valley with a bunch of great restaurants and sights.Parking: Really hard to find parking at the waterfront on any busy night. Very crowded. But be patient sit around for a minute.

The appetizers (Tuscan chicken & antipasti tray) were very good. The entrée was a different story. I had the Tomato Tagliettea was too salty, and the sauce was acidic. The burssell sprouts were burnt.

Wonderful newest place for brunch on the Newburgh waterfront. Great atmosphere outside. Good views of the water and the bridge. Excellent food. Good drinks and desserts. The weather was great today so you could not ask for anything

Went on a Saturday for brunch but unfortunately brunch is only served on Sunday’s. Big disappointment given that this information wasn’t on their website. The atmosphere is clean and appealing however, food is served in small portions and lacks flavor.

Definitely a restaurant that doesn’t know the area or what they’re doing. From poor ownership(who had multiple failed businesses prior) to poor management. Do not respect women or their options. This company only listens to men and doesn’t care about their employees. Very high turnover rate usually due to how employees are treated and completely screwed over. Executive chef drinks on the job all day, employees high all the time and owner has drug issues. They expect everything from their employees but don’t compensate for what’s needed/wanted. Food is mediocre and not what the area wants but doesnt matter because there is no direction and owner and chef always think they’re right. They claim to be like a “family” but it’s a VERY toxic company to work for.Know they’re struggling and push customers to make positive reviews. Out of all the restaurants on the waterfront this business has no clue what they’re actually doing and it will fail just like every other business this owner has had. I’m going to give it another year, maybe 2 MAX.(Sources from multiple current and past employees)

We had the most amazing time at Primo celebrating my sisters Bridal Shower. Everything from the food, drinks, service and atmosphere was absolutely perfect. Nicole, the event coordinator, was such a sweetheart and so easy to work with. She made sure we were well taken care of.
