Stopped in Friday night for dinner for two and had a really nice and relaxing evening with my wife. Paul, our server, was kind, funny and knowledgable and asked Sean, the bartender, for wines to pair with our filets, and his recommendations didn’t disappoint! Will certainly be back over the Summer to enjoy the outside patio!

Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in the Hudson Valley of New York on the beautiful Hudson River the food, the service, magnificent! Any season The River Grill as an awesome place to spend time enjoying a delicious meal. They also cater events so if you're celebrating a birthday anniversary engagement any type of special celebration this is a great place to do it. Whether you've never been or you haven't been in a long time it's time to go. We went tonight and it was ?? Thank you to all the staff You made our night very special.

Appetizers were OK. Maybe 3 1/2 to 4 stars. But the shellfish combination entrées were terrible. Mussels were inedible. One of the supposedly cooked clams was raw. Calamari was rubbery. Rice was low quality. Only the lobster and shrimp were decent.

We had one of the worst meals we have ever had at The River Grill last night. We What is he called little sandwiches should have known when we walked in for our reservation on a Saturday night at 7 PM and there was only one other party in the restaurant! The appetizer was actually acceptable steamed clams, and small lobster salad sandwiches. However, the main meals were atrocious. Where do I start. My seafood with pasta included pasta that was overcooked with plain water, and no salt in the cooking water, therefore no taste! Seafood was piled on top but not cooked with the pasta - again, giving no taste to the pasta. Worse than that, the mussels tasted old, and possibly turned. Same can be said for the other seafood in my order - nothing tasted fresh! My husband got paella which included the same quality seafood I had but rice that was clearly pre-packaged as we recognized the taste from quick cook boxed saffron rice we have purchased at the grocery store. Nothing unique or tasty. And NOT paella! VERY disappointing and horribly tasting meal with a total bill of close to$150!!!!! We actually did not eat more than a bite or two of our meals and did not pack anything to go. I wanted to inform our waiter, who was very nice about the quality of the food, but my husband did not want me to do so. Frankly, the meal should have been gratis. It was awful. I have a feeling this place will not be staying in business long, at least not with their current chef.

I, my daughter and her mother had a small celebration last evening at the River Grill. What a wonderful experience! Justin our server was so patient and helpful throughout our entire evening and always had a smile. What a fantastic person. All of our appetizers and entrees were exceptional. And then a surprise dessert was presented to us. Unbelievably delicious!All said, Mark, thank you and your staff for a memorable evening!

Brought some friends here from out of town because we always see the place super crowded in the summer. Cute, cozy atmosphere and nice views of the Hudson. Good sized entree portions and food was pretty good. I’d come back in the summer to sit outside.Vegetarian options: Beyond burger is on the menu.

Went for New Years eve dinner with friends. Very nice atmosphere and food was prepared very well. Attentive staff and fair prices. Overall I would recommend going. We will definitely be back for sure.

About $150 for two of us with one drinker.The bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer is a MUST HAVE. That alone was worth the trip. They appeared to be short staffed as understandable as other places. We luckily arrived just in time around 6:30 before the Saturday night 7:30 rush.So do not be in a hurry. Plan on 2 hours if you arrive after 7:00. Parking meter was $4.00. I asked my waitress “how do you have your steak”? She said “medium rare”. I should have ordered her way.I ordered medium and was a little harder to chew but tasted great still. More than enough food, took half home for another meal.Looking forward to going again.

Went there for Thanksgiving ... the food was great !!!! I will definitely go again ... just not for Thanksgiving ... they sat us outside under a makeshift cover AND WE FROZE !!!! Thank God we were able to move towards the center which was warmer !!!! Michael the server was exceptional ! I will be back during the summer months

The food was very flavorful. My husband had the filet mignon and lobster tail, cooked to perfection, on Monday only $26.00, no catch it was amazing. I had the lobster ravioli with chorizo, black beans, corn, shrimp and crab meat in a cajun cream sauce, it was so delicious I would order again. This is a must
