For the new kid on the block, El Punto certainly lived up to its hype. Waited three years, and now it had some time to establish itself. We decided to give it a try. Went on a Saturday shortly after 4. We got seated right away, but it was already filling up. They served housemade chips and a great house salsa. They have some Mexican cocktails that all look tempting ($12 avg price per cocktail). We started with empanadas as an app. You get two large beef filled empanadas. The plate had a great presentation, and taste did not disappoint. It came out before we even ordered our main meal. My wife & I both got the 3 tacos for &18. They looked fantastic and tasted just as great. My only complaint is that the music overall was just a little loud, and the time for the tacos took a little longer than I had hoped, but overall, we had a great experience with excellent food and friendly service. We will definitely be returning again.Parking: There's a lot behind the building on Manhattan St that offers plenty of parking if there isn't any available on Webster St.

Drinks are a little costly 12.00 each small glasses but they tasted so good I had 3 ? also had the tacos steak and shrimp tasted great but the pork was so hot and spicy you couldn't even eat it!

Solid new Mexican restaurant. Great spot with good vibes to go with friends and enjoy their cocktails in particular. Overall the food was pretty good, the dip trio really hits the spot. The queso, salsa and pico were all fantastic. Loved the selection of hot sauces served with the entrees. I enjoyed the shrimp quesadilla but it was a little bland by itself. Adding the jalapeno and tequila lime salsa really kicked it up a notch. Bartenders and staff were all amazing. The restaurant is also a cool ambience with the 16 window VW van and also TVs to watch. Would definitely come back.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere! I ordered the carnitas taco, cauliflower taco and fish. All were amazing. The nachos were also the best nachos I’ve ever had! You can tell a lot of thought and effort went into the decor and overall atmosphere. Highly recommend.

The staff lacks a lot of people skills. From the moment we walked in, the hostesses were standoffish, the server was very bland, didn’t come check on us, didn’t offer us drink refills, didn’t make sure we got our food okay. Our whole table got the 3/$18 tacos, the food runners brought everyone’s food out and just gave them to a person, they didn’t even ask who ordered what. Just placed them on the table. The server ruined the entire experience honestly. We were sitting their for a bit after dinner and we felt like we were being pushed out the door. It was only 11pm on a Saturday night. Didn’t ask if we wanted another round of drinks or anything. If you’re reading this and you’re the owner or manager, i don’t recall the servers name but she was a skinny blonde with a very monotone voice with a terrible personality. Would highly suggest new staff. We walked outside to see canal club full of life with lots of people and that’s where we ended the night since we didn’t feel the vibes here.

I don’t really have anything positive to say about this place. the trio was good but i got the chicken entree and it was so gross, it was like mexican wanna be greek, it was not what i was expecting don’t recommend. my partner got the tacos and said it was okay. Not really sure what type of mexican they are aiming for. we sat at the bar and the bartender was so slow, forgot everything and couldn’t tell you anything on the menu. I am Gluten free as well and the bartender made me super nervous to eat there. Will see if i get a reaction, it’s extremely pricy for no reason most likely won’t be going back.

Sat at the bar with my boyfriend around 10:30pm on a Saturday; it wasn’t very busy. Waited about 10 mins to place a drink order, then when we received our drinks one had blood-like substance on the side of the glass, as if the bartender cut his finger while making it. Took about 15 mins to get someone’s attention to replace the drink. During that 15 mins the bartenders were either talking or going back and forth to the kitchen to replace glasses at the bar. By the time the new drink came, one drink was already finished. No offer to make another drink when the fresh one was dropped off. Once the second drink was done, no offer for at least 20 mins asking if we needed more drinks. At that point, we were both staring at the bartenders hoping we’d get someone’s attention, but it felt like we were being ignored. We were going to order a second round of drinks, but after waiting so long we were both frustrated and just wanted to leave. To make it super obvious we started putting our coats on to leave, when we were then asked if we wanted more drinks or were all set. Stated we just wanted to pay and made it known the customer service was terrible, which then led to the bartender checking us out to say “I’m sorry both of these bartenders are getting fired and I’ll ensure a better experience next time.” Seems unprofessional to say that, customers don’t need to know about that.The drinks were good and they did give us the one drink for free, which was nice but the customer service was terrible. No one seemed interested in attending to the bar.Would go back again to give it another try, but probably not for a few months+ until the staff is better equipped and professionally trained.
