Had an amazing Birthday dinner at Arlo last night! They gave me a lovely Birthday card which was so sweet. Started off with a delicious Moscow Mule, made perfectly. For the appetizer we chose the fried calamari. Light and crispy, the portion is huge. For mains I had the crispy duck breast and my fiancé had the shrimp. My duck was cooked to perfection and the blackberry gastrique was so incredible it made the dish. My fiancé loved his shrimp. For dessert we shared and devoured the baked Alaska. The side table flambé was so fun and made the night super special. Also can’t forget the complementary champagne they gave us for my birthday. I loved the low light and warm decor of Arlo made it so romantic and added to the specialness of the night. Oh and the service was really impeccable. Definitely will be coming back!

I really don’t get how this restaurant got such an outstanding rating. And those reviews!! We went there for dinner back in February and will not go back.Place looks great but it is really loud, especially when you get the table across from the kitchen pick up window, super annoying. Food and cocktails mediocre at best. I still can’t look at octopus on other restaurants menus after tasting Arlo’s.On the positive note, service was great.

Went on a date night with my husband and the atmosphere was great as was the service but I didn't like that there were 3 restrooms for everyone to use.. Went in one and there was no urinal and whoever was in before me put the seat up and had bad aim. Gross! It should be mens ~ ladies room and the 3rd for whoever does not identify as such! On to the food~ since it was restaurant week they had a special menu which was less than the prefix menu and had a lot less to choose from. They also gave the regular menu if you wanted more choices! We opt for the restaurant week menu. My husband ordered the Chicken Spiedini and I ordered the Fried Calamari. My husband was not impressed with his and I returned my as it was the worse Fried Calamari I ever ate! So I got the Ceasar Salad instead ~ when it came it was a mountain of cheese and you could hardly see the romaine lettuces once I tossed it I had to order more dressing as it was so dry!! Our main course the pork chop for my husband and crispy salmon for me was very good but the winning dish was the desserts! Would I recommend the restaurant YES but not those appetizers.

We were a party of 8 and Arlo and staff did not miss a beat. Everyone enjoyed their appetizers which varied from crab cakes, salads and calamari. For main dish I personally ordered the pork chop which was thick and moist. It was perfect. Joe are waiter met all of our needs, was extremely attentive and possessed knowledge of everything on the menu and variations if needed. Someone was always checking on our table, whether it be Joe, the manager or others. Arlo is a top notch restaurant and we will be back.

The environment, service , food was excellent . My only complaint was the loud rock music , in a dining experience . I mentioned it to the server and I think he had them tone it down with some nice Brazilian jazz . Our server was very nice and fun

10/10 experience. My family and I came here for Easter. We made reservations 2 weeks in advance and were able to get a table. This was our first time eating here. The service, atmosphere and food were great! They were understanding about my food allergies and I was able to make changes to my meal because of it. Everyone was happy with their meals and the plate was left completely empty. I can’t wait to come back again. I highly recommend.Dietary restrictions: I have a lot of food allergies and they made it very easy for me to get what I want without the items I’m allergic to.Parking: Valet parking

Celebrated my wife’s birthday at Arlo. They knew it was my wife’s birthday and they really made her birthday so special by providing us with complimentary glasses of Prosecco and a personalized birthday card. The food was delicious. Excellent size portion of grilled octopus for the appetizer. We had the lobster parpadelle. Lobster was incredibly tender and delicious. I had the Easter special of elk and rabbit. Very scrumptious.Ee ended the evening with the baked Alaska. We will remember our evening for years to come.Kid-friendliness: Had meals available for kids

Our dinner reservation was under our friend's name, as they had never been to Arlo's and wanted to try it. My husband and I have been there a few times and although disappointed, we thought we'd give it another try. The chicken parmesan, although presented beautifully, flamed at the table, was terribly tough and dry and tasteless (as it was when we'd had it previously, but we wanted to see if it improved. It did not). The waitress asked if we would like bread, and we said yes, we would. She returned to our table and explained that they "ran out of bread," but they were "cutting up and heating more bread" so it should be out shortly. We said that was fine, we'd wait. Without the bread showing up, our appetizers were brought to us. After we ate the appetizers, we waited a relatively lengthy amount of time for our entrees but didn't mind. We were never brought the bread, so I asked the waitress if the bread was coming. She replied "oh, you still want bread?" Of course we wanted bread, we had asked for it, she had come to us earlier to explain why it was taking longer than usual, therefore why would she think it was okay to not have brought it? Our friend did something I would not have done, he called over the maitre d and complained about the waitress, making some rather personal attacks on her abilities. I did not think that was warranted, however, the experience was frustrating. The staff is always lovely from hosts to maitre d's to servers, so the attitude about the bread was unexpected, and my and my husband's entrees were less than satisfactory - especially the chicken parmesan - so tough and tasteless again. We thought we'd give the food there another try, but now we are done and will not return to this restaurant. As a note, they offered a dessert for us to share on the house to make up for the bread incident.

Where to start...went to Arlo on a weekday around 5:30 PM to see the hype & try the pre-fixe menu since it is the same items we would have ordered. The place was fairly empty but had 4 valet parkers with no self option to self park in an extremely small parking lot. We entered and there were 2 coat check girls / hostess. We then were seated in a comfortable booth. The ambiance was average, nothing special, just clean. The waiter was very nice & attentive. At 6:30 there were maybe a total l4 tables. Now let's start with the food: you can usually tell if a restaurant is somewhat decent by how they serve the bread. The bread tasted microwaved and over salted. The butter was soft, nice, and plain with a little pepper sprinkled on top. When you bit into the bread however, you really had to bite it and pull or it was just stuck mush. We had an inside joke about how terrible the bread was, but we're hoping for a comeback. The bread could have been better if toasted but you could very much tell it was microwaved bread.I still had high hopes for the pre-fixe. I ordered the baked clams, halibut, and chocolate mousse cake. My boyfriend ordered the calamari, beef pot pie with bone marrow (which must just be for instagram photos), and chocolate mousse cake. For the apps, the baked clams were good but very tiny so just remember that. The calamari was the most average calamari you could order / it tasted like fried nothingness like many restaurants. The halibut was good but too saucy underneath. It tasted very clean, well cooked, and a good portion size. For my boyfriend's food, he got the beef bourguignon pot pie w/ the bone marrow. He thought it looked better than it tasted & was like eating Restaurant Depot at its finest with a piece of bone marrow stuck in the middle & could not have been more average. I personally disliked the sauce inside his pot pie. During this time, the waiter filled our waters & swept the crumbs off the table, which my boyfriend always likes. For the chocolate mousse dessert - my favorite is chocolate mousse (so i am a bit picky) it really just tasted like regular old Betty Crocker meets restaurant depot pre-bought chocolate cake that is cut up. If it was homemade I'd be shocked. The sizing was too large to savor & reminded me of sheet cakes at restaurant depot.Overall, we noticed the manager walking around a lot and instead of managing things, he was just bopping around from table to table. It would've been nicer for a chef to come out because who really wants to ever speak to the manager at a restaurant when you don't ask to? The manager looked just as bored as all the extra staff that was just standing around doing nothing.I just hope they all don't split tips because there were way too many waiters standing around while 1-2 worked.Overall i give this place my rating because I'd never go back because nothing tasted better than microwaved Restaurant Depot food. I really enjoy Mill Pond so much better for the area. There is nothing horrible about this place but nothing that lived up to its hype. It was just below average, which is why I would give it a 3. I included photos just so you could see what i am talking about. Also - they had great covers on for music! Wish i knew more of their dietary restrictions but i didn’t see it on the prefixe.Dietary restrictions: They didn’t really put much on prefixe menu which is unfortunateParking: The parking lot annoyed me a little bit because you could see your car and get it quicker than actually valet parking at. However, there were no spots to park yourself as valet had cones up so they could make the tip, don’t blame them as it was dead inside during dinner time on a weekday & 4 valets

Great food and bad staff. 1. Unnecessary valet parking 2. Reject customer's request to move to another seat due to sun glare. 3. Too friendly and not caring disturbing family conversation by not leaving after ignoring a few times. ( Hoping he will realize that he is not welcomed to join our conversation ) 4. Disturbing guy just walking around with no service. 5. This place has great food and the worst customer service.

Was celebrating my wife's birthday for our second visit to Arlo. As was the case our last visit the food, service, and ambiance of the restaurant is off the charts. Have yet to order anything that was not among the very best we have ever had. Can't wait to go back again.

So, we have eaten at Arlo four times since its opening. I'll overlook the difficulty in getting a reservation, the mandated valet parking and the irksome cancellation fee policy, for the good food and unique upscale, comfortable ambience. The first three dinners here, each between four people, we graded 3/4 as outstanding and 1/4 as good. I'd have given that place 5 stars. Service ranged between funny, great, and mediocre, but always earnest and with good personality. Considering food and ambience, it held up to 5 stars. So now we are over one year in, and it is still difficult to get a reservation. While that hasn't changed, the rest has. Of four dinners tonight, two were "good", and two were "okay". Waitstaff, while attentive, were not tuned-in to our table. The extra place setting sat past the appetizer course, when I collected it and placed it for pickup (thank you, busboy). My cue to the waiter that the bread did not taste fresh, went unnoticed. And the notable push for the "featured" wine was overbearing.I'm averaging the 5-stars I would have given over the past year with the 1.5 stars I thought it earned tonight, to 3 stars. (weighed up).More than anything, I hope Arlo can show me this was a one-off, and prove a quality establishment can be more than a flash in the pan.

The dining room is nice...feels like you're not on Long Island. It's on a hill...so a bit of a hassle with valet parking and such. Been a handful of times, as it's in the neighborhood, and it's pretty good. I can't get too excited about anything here to be honest, but it's a solid place. Service is spotty, at best.

Everything was great! But please don't have wine vendors come up to tables and do sales pitches for 10 minutes - we only had like an hour and a half to eat and wanted time to ourselves
