A very eclectic and absolutely a must try at least once if you are in the beautiful town of Northport.Very small but cozy, this restaurant has some very interesting music memorabilia covering its walls. Go there hungry as the food doesn't stop coming. Bring cash, only form of payment accepted.

My fiancé and I were so excited to try Maroni's based on word of mouth reccomendations and so many 5-star online reviews. We are foodies, have been to plenty of chefs tastings, appreciate good food and are always in search of the best eats. Unfortunately, Maroni's completely missed the mark for us- we were actually shocked when we left dinner. While the waitresses were lovely and we had a good time, this review speaks mainly to the food itself. My fiancé referred to our experience as "a Chefs tasting menu brought to you by Restaurant Depot". We felt like majority of the courses could have been frozen, air fried and served and we wouldn't have known the difference- and while we have no problem spending money on good food, this $195pp was not justified with the quality of dishes provided. There was no balance of flavors, no correlation between courses, nothing unique, and nothing that would speak to a true foodies palate. I feel like this would've been a good place for either beginners who do not really appreciate food, or a late night drunk munchie sesh (but the price tag on that does not fit). Yes the unlimited beer/wine and included gratuity was a nice touch- but if you are looking for a chefs tasting experience where everything is perfectly curated and balanced in flavors, textures, and the overall journey- I would go elsewhere. We are happy we tried it, but we would not return solely based on the food.

No menu it’s a chef selected small plates tasting menu. Fantastic. And get some meatballs to go

James

Best meatballs. Great tasting menu

The meatballs are definitely not what they once were... maroni definitely had that touch and maybe another ingredients that he used because sadly to me these meatballs taste like a generic meatball I can pick up from any pizzeria.... And not the meatball I had years and years ago that once changed my life.... Mr Maroni I miss u, rip..

This is a true tasting menu! Delicious food that can fit any palette (nothing too fancy for those that aren't adventurous) and so much food and wine we were stuffed! Loved it and would definitely come back. Service especially was exceptional and we loved everything but the bacon (which just wasn't what we expected but of course eaten!).

We did a pre-ordered take-out of their red hot pot of 'grandma's' meatballs. They offer 3 sizes, small, medium and large. We opted for medium without pasta which was 25 good sized meatballs made from a 120-year old recipe. The round red cast iron pot keeps the meatballs nice and hot. There were 4 adults and 2 children . We added pasta and there was even left overs. Small, cozy restaurant. Planning to try a sit down meal.

This is my second year celebrating my birthday at Maroni's in Northport. The tasting menu is such a fun, unique, delicious (and filling) experience. The restaurant itself is small and cute inside, gives prohibition/ speak easy vibes. It's casual but that doesn't mean the service and food isn't INCREDIBLE. It's a perfect mix of comfort food, different types of food, and high end things you might not normally get! I counted, we ate 14 courses of dinner, and a dessert course that had 3 desserts on a platter, and espresso. Some of my favorite courses were: sushi, wagu burger slider, chicken Milanese, dumplings, bacon, cauliflower ravioli and my husband loved the shrimp scampi and lobster bisque. I don't eat seafood so they made quite a few substitutions for me so I could eat something different. Like I said before, it's not fancy, but they focus on the quality of the food and service, which makes it such a great experience. It's $175 pp during the week and it includes food, drinks (I probably had 4 glasses of wine during the 2 hours I was there), tax and tip, so worth it. My husband and I left STUFFED and I can't wait to come back next year for my birthday!

I usually go to Maronis for my birthday every year. This year the service just wasn't up to par. Maronis it was a good run, I think I'll be celebrating my birthday elsewhere.

I eat out often at high-end restaurants and enjoy elevated dining experiences, including tasting menus. I want to say that everything went well with my experience. Service was fine, food came out fine, I’m not grouchy and complaining, I am noting my experience- Maronis was disappointing and not for me. After having visited there yesterday I can say that it is overrated. It seemed like the everyday casual man’s tasting menu. Only tasting menus aren’t for every day casual people. So this is where my confusion began. It wasn’t as elegant or decedent as I expected. While there were many course tastings, there was no theme, connection or chef creativity. For example, we had sushi followed by mini sliders, which had 3 Ore-Ida inspired tater tots and two packets of ketchup. I was served packets of ketchup for $140 a head. I was speechless. One course was Korean bbq ribs with a “gummy bear garnish” there was no other relation to gummy bears with the rest of the meal (like a glaze or something) yet a gummy bear was stuck on top of my rib and was insisted to be referred to as a “garnish”. We had two small shrimp and 2 oysters, the shrimp were puny and insulting. The menu was all over the place and seemed like the average joes tasting menu rather than a chef inspired culinary curation. Everything that came out tasted good but in our opinion wasn’t worth the price. The positives that stuck out: unlimited wine and beer (no other alcohol), everything including gratuity is included in final price, they gave us sauce and meatballs to take home- very nice touch. The space was tight, the staff wore t shirts, the decor was pop culture-inspired…not what I was expecting for an expensive (and otherwise supposed to be classy) tasting menu experience.

You will not find a better dining experience! This tasting menu gets more delicious as the courses go. Sure there’s a price tag, but with over 15 courses and unlimited wine you won’t hear me complaining - I’m so excited every time we go! Their meatballs are the stuff of legend.
